Ernies Reliable Moving Co

Ernie's Reliable Moving Co. is anything but reliable. I scheduled a move with this company three days in advance. The day of the move, they were supposed to be there at 9:00am. I received a call from an employee about 8:30 am that morning. This person asked how much I had to move. I told her that I was moving from a three bedroom apartment into another three bedroom apartment less than a mile away from each other. The employee told me that they were running about twenty minutes behind but that they were on the way. They never showed up at all. After six hours of waiting, I just gave up and rented a U-haul and had to move myself. I called the listed business number several times that day and received a voicemail each time. It's been five days now, and I still have not heard a word from them. Long story short, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. I wish that I had done my homework before calling them.

Be very careful. I contracted for two days of moving from my house and a storage unit. Owner indicated that he had insurance and was bonded. My complaints: 1)My wedding ring was stolen. The owner said he would contact his insurance co. After not hearing back, I called his insurance company directly. They could not find any record of him or his company. At this point the owner would no longer take my calls. 2)I was presented with an invoice that included fraudulent time charges by the movers. Lunch was listed as .5 hours when actual was 1-1.5 When I showed them a printout of the storage gate log, they were embarrassed and did not protest.3)At least one worker was obviously on some kind of drug. When I approached the team leader about not wanting the worker around my kids, I was told that he was taking methadone as the result of back surgery. Either way, why was he moving my stuff??? 4)the trucks are old and very slow. This is a very shady company. Beware.
