I knew this shop and owners when it was newly established. Somewhere along the way... things went south.
The atmosphere is fine. It's a cozy coffee house with room for socializing, books and games, inviting the patrons to stay a while.
Over the years, the food has gone from excellent to mediocre if that. I've had a chicken salad that looked old, the mayo seemed to separate and appear grainy, so I didn't eat it. The egg cup had an off taste (burnt?) and I recall amazing sandwiches they used to sell from a nearby restaurant.
The service used to be bubbly, friendly, and now I hardly see a smile on a worker's face. It's as if it's a burden to be there. This morning, I received a latte instead of a coffee, the barista walked off and didn't even say thank you when I received my order. On top of that, I watched unsanitary dumping of old grounds into the side of the trash can, not even washing the instrument before putting it back into the espresso machine.
I'm sorry for calling you out, Blue Bean, but I've given you second, third, fourth chances and have been continually disappointed. Hope this is a wake up call for you to improve, but you've already lost a customer who has been more than patient with you.
