I have been going to Anns for 28 years. We went there once a week for years. In all that time their food has been consistently wonderful. It is a very small place, but the service is quick and the food is always fresh and hot. We have ordered other things occasionally and it was always very good but we are addicted to that chicken fry!! The house dressing, garlic ranch is made fresh, it's creamy, mild and delish. I could say the same about the cream gravy, made fresh, creamy, mild, and delish. There are other places we like to go with great food but what keeps us coming around so often to Ann's is great food at a low price. In 28 years the only problem we had was the chicken fry getting a little bit too done. That has happened 3 or 4 times. We miss the original waitresses now. The ones that watched us become a family and watched our kids grow up. They were there so long, they felt like family to us. They still have great service and a lot of memorabilia mostly from the 50's, 60's. Oh Yummm, now I think I'm fixin' ta git me som'a that chick'n fry.
After waiting what seems like an eternity for the 44 Diner to open, it finally has -- AND IT HAS BEEN WORTH THE WAIT!!!! A very well-done renovation of an old Sonic at the corner of Kelley and NE 63rd, the 44 Diner has the nicest wait staff and really great food. I am a breakfast-at-lunch lover, and their pancakes are delicious. Their club and blt sandwiches are classic and tasty. The french fries are good, but the onion rings don't appeal to me -- too much breading, which is a preference for some. Friends had the catfish and told me it was the best they have had in OKC. I haven't tried their burgers yet, but listening to diners around me who ordered them, it sounds like they will be worth trying. Oh, and best of all, the prices are very modest for the high quality you receive. I have eaten there about 20 times, and even if it weren't convenient and close to my work, I would still be a regular. I encourage you to try it -- I know you will like it, and I want the 44 Diner to be successful for a long time!
Me and my husband went to the opening of Dave & Buster's today in Oklahoma City and have to say it was amazing. The restaurant had great food and service. The games were fun and had a great selection. The staffs were friendly and prompt to help with any issues. Everything was awesome. I would recommend this place to everyone. I am also so happy that they finally opened one in Oklahoma City. The restaurant is in a great location and has easy access points getting into it. It is easy to see from the main roads and is not hard to find.
I have never seen a restaurant make such a messy Burger or what they call a Burger anyways... you mind as well ask them EVERYTIME to put your bun on the side or it will be mush by the time it reaches your table...which will probably be thirty to forty-five minutes just for two burgers and some fries... and don't even worry about answering them on how you want it cooked... waste of time. I have tried so many times to give them chance after chance to make something worth eating but they fail time after time! great menu but NO execution!!!
Mr Keith, I was in your restruant the last time I was in Oklahoma City, the food was great the staff was great, except the girl that was working your suviner shop, she changed the price on the pictures two times. the main reason i'm writing this is to let you know that when I went to the Ladies room I almost lost it the floor around the stalls were nasty they were caked with dirt and grime they were nasty. thaught you would like to know. Thank You, Aileen Walkup
The food, service, and atmosphere was the best that I've received in a Soul Food Restaurant in a long time. The food was hot and cooked to order, no need to add any seasoning just hot sauce. Florence's provides a true down home family atmosphere with friendly staff (Kayla) and courtesy service attentive to the small things. The group that I was with had an opportunity to meet and take pictures with the founder/owner, who still manages the kitchen. Looking forward to my next visit to OKC!!!!
I haven't had a chicken fry from Ann's in 27 years, when I lived there.I cherish the memories of those chicken fry's.Back then, everyone seemed to come for the fry.You are nearly immediately served a drink and a small salad. You best eat that salad fast, cause that fry is there usually before you can eat it.A double fry is two chicken frys on one plate, and a second plate is full of french fries. It is the best pay day meal in town.Thinking back to those meals hurts my head,I want some NOW!!!!!
I celebrated a wedding anniversary here one evening and had an amazing meal..the steak melted in your mouth, the salad and sides were delicious and we had super service from our very personable waiter, Felton. In addition, we had the most delectable key lime pie, complements of Felton! It was a perfect all around dining experience and we've told all our friends and family. Keep up the good work, we're looking forward to coming again!
My husband & I ate there for Breakfast...The Omelette is UNBELIEVABLE....my Husband had the chicken fry....and it is NOT a prefab chicken fry..this is the Real thing....sitting at the bar you can watch Nic cook..carry on a conversation with him or the other customers, "Just Like Family"..and hey..if you are feelin lonely...come in and eat..your mood will change for the good!
