I have had cataract surgery in both eyes. One of my appts I sat here 3 hours after my appt time and no one said a word. When I finally received my prescription for my new glasses I was hit like a ton of bricks. Since I have Medicare I had to go back to them for my glasses since my doctor is only contracted thru them. Not happy at all
Dr. Melody is amazing. When i went back to look at glasses, i could not get the girl to help at all. She just pointed to the wall of glasses. I found a pair i would have bought, around $400, however when i told her i liked them she just jumped up with excitement for the sale! I told her i WOULD HAVE bought them, but if she didnt want to help me when i walked in, i sure didnt want her help now, and that i would go elsewhere. I will go back, however for my eye exam. This occurred in 6/2016
In late 2016 and early 2017 I had two eye surgeries at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City. A mistake I wish I could undo. If I ever have eye surgery again, it will be somewhere else.

This is my first time writing a bad review for a business, but I don't feel like Dr. Hicks has the best interest for his patients and only looks out for himself and I do not recommend him at all. I have been a patient here for several years and when I decided to get Lasik, the staff and Dr. Hicks acted very unprofessionally. They never faxed my records to my ophthalmologist in order to get lasik and kept advising me not to get the surgery even though the ophthalmologist told me I am a likely candidate for it. They also suggested that I go to Njoy for lasik, which I'm sure they get some compensation for referring patients over to (even though they advised me earlier NOT to get lasik). I finally had to go over to their office and get the faxes personally and I noticed that they had advertisement brochures for Njoy which explains why Dr. Hicks kept recommending them and would not fax my records over to Dean McGee. I also had some problems in the past with this office for denying me a certain contact lens brand and kept pushing me to use another brand. (By the way, it has been a month after my surgery, and I can see perfectly fine with no problems and I"m HAPPY to to say that I don't have to go back to Dr. Hicks at FYeye anymore)!
If you have eye insurance its best you go to a doctor or business under your insurance. This company you pay out of Pocket which is find for me since I did not have insurance. Customer service was a great experience. Small staff but patience is key if you are willing to wait. Ordered glasses with no problem. Glasses are reasonable its just the lenses that will cost you.
I ordered my lenses and was informed by the person who checked me out that they should arrive in a week. It's been almost a month and still no lenses. I called and spoke with Nanette 3 weeks later and was told they were never ordered. The girl was "New" and made a mistake. I asked for some form of compensation back due to the error and was denied. She didn't seem very empathetic. For this reason, I will not use this company again or refer anyone. The Doctor who examined my eyes was OUTSTANDING. However, Nanette needs to take some empathy training. It's really disappointing that she didn't go above and beyond to appease me considering I was the customer "inconvenienced" I understand people being brand new but I shouldn't have to suffer behind someone else's incompetence. If Nanette had just done more than the required, the review I'd be writing would be much different. For this reason, 947 Eyes has lost a customer. I will opt to go and pay a higher price for the same exact service if I know I'm going to receive much better customer service. In the words of my boss "NOT MY CIRCUS,NOT MY MONKEY" Thanks for the (lackluster) customer service, Nanette!Chianti.
Dr. Schmid is a wonderful eye doctor in OKC, I think. He spends a lot of time with his patients, he is very nice and great doctor.
I was treated here for a retinal tear. The retinal specialist was excellent, I will not go see another doctor as I have had great care here. In an emergency I was admitted and treated for a tear within 45 minutes of walking through the front door.Routine follow-up visits have been typical of most doctor offices with sometimes long waits (have to handle those emergencies).
