**DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ETCHED IN STONE DESIGNS AND/OR WALLIS BURNSIDE**There was no stone on my mother’s grave this Memorial Day weekend even though we ordered a headstone from him over a year ago, and paid for it in full. He has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau, was featured on a segment of “Get Gephardt,” is on the Division of Consumer Protection’s Buyer Beware List (as Burnside, Wallis, dba Etched in Stone Design), and Fox 13 News recently did a story about a family who lost a baby to SIDS and waited for THREE YEARS for Burnside to complete their stone! In our case, Mr. Burnside has missed FOUR deadlines. He first told us the stone would be completed by the end of Summer, 2016. He missed that deadline. He then said he would have it done by Ogden City Cemetery’s winter deadline for laying headstones, which was somewhere around the end of November. He missed that deadline, as well. He then said he would have it done and put in place this Spring, as soon as the cemetery would let him in, which Ogden City Cemetery told us was the first or second week of April, depending on the weather. He missed that deadline, as well. We then told him that we would like it done by Mother´s Day, but we would settle for having it done by Memorial Day. He missed that deadline, as well. He refused to take responsibility for any of it, and instead blamed it on his health, his need for better employees, and even Ogden City Cemetery, saying that they changed their deadlines. Which is not true – we checked. I wish that I had known all of this before I gave this man my money. It’s horrible that he puts grieving families through this. I hope that more families who have had similar experiences will leave reviews also, so that others won’t have to go through what we have had to go through. He is prolonging the grieving process for too many unfortunate families!
