My review is in response to the only other review of this program. I graduated this program in 2006. This was the hardest, but most rewarding experience that I had ever went through in my life. Yes, there are a lot of rules and regulations, but they are set up for a reason, and that reason being is that they are trying to teach women how to be accountable in every decision, choice, and behavior exhibited in their lives, and that those decisions have consequences and effects. Mission Messiah was in no way cultish in my opinion. I was able for the first time in my life to be free of the pain and suffering that i carried and to be free of causing others that same pain. Jesus used that program to heal me of so many things that i would never of been able to do on my own. If you are reading these reviews because you know someone or you are that someone who needs help, please know that everyone's experiences at a program like this or this one really depends on their perspectives

Mission Messiah was not what they told me it would be. The rules are ridiculous and they treat you like a child. The only place they allow you to be alone is in your room at the end of the day and it's lights out at nine p.m. You get slips for everything and are punished by having to run laps and run the "track" with fourty pound weights. There are no warnings. Your slips are warnings. Like me, I accidentally forgot to turn my heater off in my room (which you can not lock and they can come in and inspect any time they feel like it) and got an orange slip which is second from the worst slip and had to run 7 laps. Instead of coming to me and saying, hey you forgot to turn off your heater, no they immediately punished me for it. None of the girls I was there with had anything nice to say about it or the people Jaime Berryhill has running it for him. Everyday it was studying and doing homework on Satan and his demons and Jaime telling me that me and my children are going to hell. There was hardly any study in God and our Savior Jesus Christ. It mainly focuses on the Devil and his demons and what you are doing wrong in your life instead of telling you that you are trying and getting on the straight path to righteousness. All it did was depress me and make me feel worse about myself. I do not recommend it. But if you think you can hack it, then go for it. Jaime has two stores, WOW and ZIP in Odessa and he uses the girls that live at the mission working for him for free for at least 9 months before he starts paying you and they hild your money and IF you can make it to graduation at the twelve month graduation mark, they tell you where and how you can spend your money. They write the checks for you. This place is like a cult. My rant is done. Good luck if you decide to go. Oh, I forgot. You get two five minute phone calls a week and you cannot see or be with your husband. He can visit, but while your being supervised. And that's onlt after you've been there for like six months or something like that. You are dictated every unite of every day. I give it a negative 5 star review.
