All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
My experience with AVS Elite Services was, without a doubt, FIVE-STARS. I called them up to see whether or not they could install an iPod jack in my girlfriend's Honda Accord. David said that he could do it, but it would make a lot more sense to put in a full head unit that would play Bluetooth, iPod, and AUX. I took in the Honda to AVS Elite Service the following day. They shop was easy to find and parking wasn’t an issue. Fairly nice selection of car audio products, and David even gave me and my girlfriend a tour of the facility and some of the high-end products they are working on, including a Land Rover with a bad---z custom sound system. David explained exactly what his techs were going to do, right down to the smallest detail. He explained exactly how the stock radio would look after installation, and he explained how the new radio would look installed underneath. He described in detail how the stock radio would no longer function, but we would add the capability of the new head unit which would include all of the modern AV functions a car should have. The most important thing was, all of the installation parts were specially made for the make and model of my girlfriend's car...very important from a cosmetic standpoint. He said installation would take an hour and a half. It actually took less time than that. Within an hour or so, we were back in the shop. Because the techs were able to make use of a wiring harness built into the car, David saved us like $40. The head unit we had installed is brand new to the market and came at a great price, so saving an additional $40 was just icing on the cake. I couldn't believe how tremendous this experience was. It is SO COOL using Bluetooth with my iPhone connecting to the car head unit and hearing anything I want pumping from the car speakers. Without a doubt, I highly recommend AVS Elite Services. I will be bring back my girlfriend's car for a speaker upgrade in the near future, and when that occurs, I will leave another review. If my next experience with this company is as fulfilling as this one, I will again walk away a happy, satisfied customer.
Since taking my car here, they have changed their name so more people realize that they do more than just tires. Its hard to find an honest mechanic that will do only what your car needs for a fair price done right. Even if you don't know anything about cars, they do and will explain it all to you. Since I use my car for business, I drive 18,000 miles a year. I depend upon my car just as my customers depend upon me to show up on time. My 2001 Pt Cruiser is getting old with many miles. Its been a trouble free car until recently. I always do those regular oil changes. I believe in preventive care, rather than costly repairs down the road. Seems every time I find a good mechanic, they go out of business. My car has been to this shop several times: struts, oil changes, over-heating, motor mount, tires, etc.... Every time was a good experience. The manager, Wade, is very courteous, friendly, and experienced in customer service and cars & trucks knowledge. You might even see him working on a car. Don't hesitate to check them out. I know you'll be just as satisfied as I am.
My 15 year old Toyota, which I have owned since day one, had an aftermarket stereo/tape cassette/radio which was worn out. Since I still had the original am/fm Toyota radio, I went to AVS Elite Services to either have the original radio reinstalled or repair the aftermarket radio. Since I no longer use the cassette deck on the aftermarket radio, it was decided best to remove the aftermarket radio and replace with the original. The tech at AVS did the work, even though original plug ins had to be reinstalled to make the original radio work. I found the tech's work to be of a high quality. My Toyota now has its original radio and it sounds just like new. This business does TV's including the latest plasmas, stereos, car radios, etc. Techs seem to have good knowledge of both old and new. Price for my work was very reasonable. Thank you.
I just transfered to MIRA MAR and on my way from FLORIDA my truck broke down so I ended up flying to san diego and my brother picked me up and let me use a car for a week.when I had to return his car we went car shopping and nobody would work with my credit unless I had alot down so I tried CARLSBAD AUTO CONNECTION and met RICKY long story short I left with a 2004 HONDA CIVICam with 60000 miles with 500.00 down and an agreement to pay the other 500 in a month its been 3 years and still running GREAT It is up to the buyer to inspect the car the salesman cannot predict the future.I will purchase from them again here in the near future.
I was referred to Amadors by Oceanside Collosion Center. After iquring about an honest repair business that would do a brake job. Prior to having the brake job done, I had to cancel several times. The staff was accomodating, professional and friendly, but most importantly, I haven't had any further issues with the brakes and the price was great!!!!. I would recommend this business for any and all repairs. In fact, I will be calling in the next day or so to schedule an appointment for a tune-up. I now have a reliable and honest repair shop that I trust with my vehicle. Thanks Amadors! S. Lucas-Roberts
I brought in my 2014 Camaro in for an alarm installation and the crew at AVS Elite Services hooked it up. They showed me how to use all of the features that the alarm offered. I felt that they really knew what they were talking about and they even had some suggestions on upgrading my audio system. You'll be very happy with their work and their outstanding customer service. I've been to other shops and these guys top the cake. If you want your job done right and with the best pricing....go see David and his crew over at AVS Elite Services. You'll be very happy with their work.
we were blessed to have found and honest mechanic. Our family just transferred here and just as luck would have it we have car trouble after driving almost 1500 miles across country. My new neighbor recommend we contact this mechanic after we received 3 quotes for a New radiator, which we only wanted it repaired (tight budget due to the move) but we were told it had to be replaced. My husband took our car into this shop, and we were told it could be repaired and it was a reasonable price. I think we just found our new mechanic. Seemed honest and really helped us out.
I appreciated the referal from Brads Auto Repair. I needed a door glass replaced in my 2006 Corolla. I was suprised that a few shops said it would take a day or two to get one in. When I called Firt Call Betty, the appiontment setter had sent atechnician out the same afternoon. he was polite and professional I believe his name was Pat. I liked the fact I was not charged for the mobile service. I hope I dont need window replacement for any reason again, but if I do I will surely call them back.
My neighbor recommended this repair center to me after I shared the estimates I received from 2 other shops. My transmission was slipping and when getting estimates they seemed very high and not much explanation of specifically would be done and to my surprise, one shop did not even offer a warranty for the $2700.00 in work they were going to do. I contacted Ken and he was able to give me a complete breakdown and also a Warranty. Best of all his price was about $950.00 less.
I am happy to share that my appointment with First call was a pleasant experience. I Purchased a 2013 Lexus four months ago and during a mini vacation found my self in need of a complete windshield due to flying debris on the highway. Apprehenisve about the mobile service I was assured the utmost care would be taken with my new car. Their word is gold to me and there are no signs that any work was ever done. Thanks First Call I will be happy to recommend your company.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
