Born and raised in Southwestern, PA, Dr. Jason Choorapuzha grew up in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. He attended the University of Pittsburgh on a full academic scholarship. While there, he earned a BS is Psychology as well as a BA in Philosophy. In addition, he spent four years as a coxswain on the University of Pittsburgh rowing club. Upon graduation, Dr. Choorapuzha attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where her earned his DMD. During this time, he served his class for two years as Vice President then two as President. He was also initiated into the Sigma Chapter of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. In his fourth year, he received the Delta Dental Student Leadership Award. Following dental school, Dr. Choorapuzha was accepted into the General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. During this one year residency program, he was deemed to have a top table clinic presentation at the Minnesota Dental Association's Star of the North Meeting with the speech, "Kidney Disease and the Dental Practitioner." It was also during this time that Dr. Choorapuzha met his wife, Lydia. In the summer of 2014, Dr. Choorapuzha and his wife returned to Pittsburgh, where he continues to practice today in the historic Oakmont suburb.
