My son has been at this location since he was 4 months old (he is 2 1/2 now) and we love it. The staff is amazing and extremely caring. All of the educators are professional and greet both my son and I each time we are walking through the halls. My son comes home happy and wakes up excited to "go to school". This is an indicator that they are doing something right. He learns new content each day (he knows his shapes, colors and is beginning to recognize his letters). They also provide opportunities for extracurricular activities during the day (sports and animals) for an additional cost. I receive 1-5 pictures a day through Tadpoles so that I can see what my son is doing and review the day with him when I come home. The center is the cleanest that I've seen (I visited 8 other centers prior to choosing this one). Another driving factor in choosing this location was that staff must keep all personal items upstairs in a locker (including phones). I feel safe bringing my son to this place each day.

I have two children in this daycare and I am currently pregnant with my third. I was very surprised by the other comments reason why I am even taking the time to even write a review. My first child enrolled in 2015 in their 2 year old room, and is finishing Pre-K this year. My second child started this year in their infant room. Teachers are so nice and caring. They helped me a lot with potty training my oldest, and offered to even close the door for him to make him as comfortable as possible. Every day my children get greeted with smiles and hugs. The school is very clean, all the toys and shelves look clean. My kids barely get sick! (Huge plus) I am looking forward to enrolling my third when she arrives in July. I am very pleased with all the staff, the director Jennifer has been there since I enrolled and she is always helpful and more than willing to offer her support where needed. She makes sure the kids are learning and are ready for Kindergarten. My son passed the Gifted and Talented test and I owe it all to the teachers who worked so hard to prepare him. I love this school and recommend it to any working parent that is looking for a warm, caring, safe environment for their child.
We started to use this daycare in the beginning of September 2016 and decided to switch to Ivy League Early Learning Center of Bayside due to proximity to my work. Everything seemed ok in the beginning but four weeks in, I had an issue with the daycare as my child was complaining that one of the teachers (Ms. XXX) has hit her. Initially the daycare did seem very concern with this allegation and claimed that they did an investigation and that it was a misunderstanding. But ultimately I did not feel like they took my concerns very seriously as they did not immediately honor my request to remove my daughter from Ms XXX’s supervision and to this day my daughter continues to adamantly claim that Ms. XXX has hit her (she’s 3 years old but this is the first time she has ever mentioned anyone laying a finger on her). Needlessly to say as a parent, I was not comfortable with the situation and ultimately decided to take my child out of their care and that was when they showed their true colors…the staff immediately became RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL and straight out DISRESPECTFUL to me.Of course as I was left with no choice but to take my child out of their facility, I expected a full refund of my deposit and unused days. I am not paying for a service where my child claims she’s being mistreated. I received one voicemail stating that my deposit will be refunded and will take 2 weeks. This was fine but there was no mention of my unused days. So I called again and had to leave numerous messages at the office as no one was returning my calls nor answering my questions. I was basically given the run-around. I was told that only the executive director can approve refunds. After a week of this, I was finally able to get a staff member to speak with me and they tell me this: the staff members were instructed not to speak with me and that it is not their policy to refund unused days and then she HUNG UP on me! It is also not a parent’s “policy” to pay for mistreatment of their child!!
My daughter was in this place and left shortly after. This daycare is so poorly run that I cringe for those parents whose children have to endure the neglect, yelling and lack of educational or intellectual stimlation. More importantly the disregard towards simple sanitary practices. Most children are Chinese and their parents might have language barrier, I suspect this is the reason why they don't know any better. The director Ms. SantaMaria seems out of place and quite unhelpful. The assistant teachers cannot understand English fully and the head teachers look completely dispassionate. The whole experience made me feel like the place was becoming a puppy mill than a legitimate daycare. I cannot fatham how this place can stay in business for this long, and to think, it is in the heart of Bayside. To be fair, I spoke to the owner, and her intentions are genuine and positive, but it's ashame those who work for her do not carry out her visions well, to say the least.
I visited this daycare 3 times since I got pregnant, and there has been a whole new group of staff each time (this should a warning in itself). On top of that, each group of new staff seems less and less qualified to be the caretaker of any child. The facility is deceitfully pleasant, but as soon as my conversation ensues with either of the directors, you are quickly questioning their intelligence and most noticable is their lack of warmth and regards with the children's well-beings. I would definitely seek out better facilities in the neighborhood.
Director yells at the children. It is extremely dirty, there is old food on the walls. All cleaning is done while children are around. They are strict with the amount of food given (i.e.: 1/4th of a banana per kid). There is no heating and I saw teachers are wearing their winter jackets inside because they were so cold. AVOID.
