I have been going to Dr. Gentry`s office for more than 15 years. What I particularly like about Dr. Gentry is her attention to detail. Her bedside manner makes me feel like I am her only patient. In her office I do not feel like a file or a number. She \\"KNOWS\\" me. She knows my condition, my body and somehow remembers little things about me on every visit. In my mind that is what makes a physician special. Her skills are unsurpassed! She is exceptionally knowledgeable and continues to keep her and her staff in front of all the new treatments, medications and surgeries so that I receive the best medical attention available. When there are complications I trust her judgment. She takes the time to explain and clarify what all options are, any implications there might be and answers every question I may have. There is no time clock with her and I always feel through her consult I am confident in the decisions we make regarding the best care for me. I recommend ALL my friends and associates to her. I live in San Francisco and go out of my way to continue to see Dr. Gentry. This is how great of a physician I feel she is. With a highly specialized condition, Dr. Gentry continues to explore all available options and treatments and initiates a call or appointment to keep me abreast of any changes. I am so grateful for her expertise and thank the staff for their support and caring.
I thought Dr. Gentry was great. I was expecting to have to wait far longer than I did, so I grateful to get in and out in a reasonable timeframe. She listened and she was thorough in her suggestions and evaluation. I would have liked her to delve more into my family and health history to uncover issues I might not have thought impt to raise, but she did address my short list of questions very well. I am grateful. The nurse or practitioner who took my vitals, however, was terrible!. She was obviously having a bad day because her mood was foul, she was curt, and visibly annoyed. I didn't think it was directed at me as the patient, but given this was my first visit, I was reluctant to ask her questions or do anything to be on the receiving end of her funk. Not sure what was going on, and we all have challenging days, but her inability to put on her game face/demeanor for the patient demonstrated a lack of professional maturity. When researching Dr. Gentry as a GYN, I noticed similar comments about the staff from others on independent reviews, so it might be an issue worth addressing. Overall, I am happy with my experience and would refer Dr. Gentry to others if asked. Please note: You may use my name in this review for the purpose of the doctor herself. You may not use my name for public use on the website or any other medium.
When i first went to hair worcz for the first time. i noticed that the place was nice but the environment was pretty rude. first they were talking to me like i was a little kid because of how i look. a lot of people think im a lot younger than my actual age. so they sorta put me in a bad mood. the service was alright. i didnt have to wait for too long. but i didnt like the fact that two people were doing my hair. i think if you schedule an appointment with someone you should stick with that person. or atleast tell them up front that "im sorry but i have a customer a head of you, would you mind if such and such does your hair?" the good thing about this salon is when they do your hair, it will last a while because of the products they put in your hair. they are really good at what they do. the bad thing about this place is they're sort of expensive and it might take a while for you to get an appointment. if you try to call and schedule one. my advice would be to go in and get one of the hair stylist number,or to schedule an appointment right there.
I love Dr. Gentry and her staff. I have been going to her on a monthly basis since I found out I was pregnant five months ago and I have never had to wait more than 20-25 minutes to see her. I feel like this is a reasonable amount of time to wait and enjoy the downtime I get to read People in the examination room. I really appreciate her hands-off/non-intervention philosophy. She didn't pressure me into paying for extra genetic testing and I haven't had any unnecessary ultrasounds or tests. She also just hired a midwife because, in her words, most people don't need ob-gyns at their deliveries. The caveat to all of this is that I won't actually be using Dr. Gentry's office to deliver my baby since I am switching to Kaiser (for cost reasons - Dr. Gentry's office doesn't accept the Aetna HMO plan I wanted to switch to). So I don't know how that would go but based on her laid back demeanor so far, I imagine that the experience would be positive.
If you are one of the unfortunate few who have an extremely painful, debilitating disease called endometriosis I'm writing to tell you Dr. Gentry was my holy grail. I can only speak from my own experience. Dr. Gentry as an empathetic human being and more importantly, in my case, a skilled surgeon. Dr. Gentry has many tools in her toolbox to help. When I walked into her office four years ago she did a full assessment and when I asked her if she could help me, like I had asked so many gynecologists before her, she immediately said, I can certainly do better than this. And she did. She carefully performed five surgeries. All of the doctors and professional staff I spoke with about the surgery were in awe of Dr. Gentry and had told me before and after the surgery that I am in good hands and she is a very talented and skilled surgeon.Dr. Gentry gets my full endorsement.
I am so grateful to have been referred to Carol's acupuncture office for my migraine headaches. I was actually experiencing a mild migraine when I arrived for my first appointment, but to my amazement, it was gone before my appointment had ended. Carol's style is relaxed and friendly. The atmosphere of her office is very calming and I love the sound of her bamboo water fountain. For years I had been having at least one migraine headache a week. Carol scheduled me for two treatments the first and second week, and one treatment the third through the fifth week. Now after five weeks, I still have not had even one migraine. But if I do, I know there is a relaxing atmosphere at Carols office where I can treat my migraine without having to rely on heavy medications. I'll take acupuncture over medications any day!
Dr. GENTRY and the staff at East Bay Women's Health are amazing. After seeking many doctors' opinions on issues I was having, Dr. Gentry was the only one to thoroughly evaluate me. She found the problem on my first visit, scheduled the surgery, and performed it herself. I continued to go to her and she took great care of me during my pregnancy and she delivered my first baby who was a preemie. She took time to visit and check on me and my son each day I was in the hospital. She genuinely cares about her patients. I would never trust anyone else to be in charge of my care and even though my insurance changed I haven't been satisfied with my medical care since leaving her. I'm actively trying to change my insurance to be back with her and I recommend her to EVERYONE I know!!!
I was traveling in the bay area and wanted to have a facial. I couldn't get an appointment in my hotel so I took a chance and visited A Current Affair. I loved the atmosphere of the office, so welcoming! Carrol took the time to ask detailed questions about my skin and the kind of results I was looking for in a facial. It was the BEST facial I ever had, and I've had many! Additionally, I was had a sinus headache that day and Carrol performed acupuncture and my headache was gone!. It was completely painless. I left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated! My only problem is that I don't live in the bay area, but you can bet when I return, I'll be making another trip to see Carrol at A Current Affair.
I have been seeing Carrol for a few months now, and I would absolutely recommend her and her services. She is an electrologist, esthetician and acupuncturist who performs facial rejuvenation. Her background in hair and skin care is extensive and I trust her opinion in these areas implicitly. Carrol is the only electrologist, who suspected my hair problem was more hormonal and suggested some other tests that detected the problem. Now for the first time in years, I am finally seeing results from my treatments. Carrol’s office is professional, private and conveniently located in Montclair. She is not only warm and friendly, but she genuinely cares for her clients. I can’t recommend her enough.
She was warm, reassuring and very, very helpful throughout my ordeal. She visited me practically every single night during my three week stay in the hospital during the holiday season, and was there to personally do my emergency c-section. Most OBs do not even attend your delivery these days if it happens after hours or on weekends when they are not on call. I will always be a big fan of Dr. Gentry's. There aren't that many good female OBGYNs in the East Bay to begin with, fewer who are African American, fewer still who have been through infertility and IVF and high risk pregnancy personally. Dr. Gentry is beautiful, kind, and brilliant. I cannot say enough good things about her.
