We shipped a glass vacuum chamber to an individual in Wisconsin. When it arrived, it was broken. We immediately filed an insurance claim.
It took UPS five weeks to process the claim, and it was unnecessarily time consuming for us. By that time, the package had been moved to Minnesota (to the original owner), and the receiver (in Wisconsin) had to drive for two hours to retrieve it, so he could have it at the original location for examination.
UPS picked up the package (for examination) in Wisconsin and denied the claim, but never let us know. They shipped it all the way back to Oakland, then called us to say that it was denied.
I give them one star, not because a package was broken, but because they shipped a broken package across the country without reason, and feel this is an injustice to the environment.
