- Jenny and Gary Rieger have been designing and building creative landscapes for bay area clients for over 18 years. This husband and wife team began their business of Columbine Landscaping with a focus toward maintenance and planting and irrigation. Since then, the focus of their business has developed into a design and build landscape installation service. The advantage of working with a design/build company is that there is greater quality and continuity from conception of the design to installation. Jenny bring expert horticultural knowledge into her designs to insure the client of a plant palette that will both please the client, and thrive in their place in the garden. Over the years, her accumulated planting experience combined with formal training and education in landscape design and ornamental horticulture contribute to her design skills. Jenny is currently enrolled in the Landscape Architecture certificate program at U.C. Berkeley Extension. Gary's green i ndustry knowledge and expertise come from his early employment with a large landscaping firm in California. Gary's specific areas of expertise in landscape installation are; irrigation planning, drainage systems design, and landscape construction such as walls, patios and water features. Together with their tea of skilled employees, Gary and Jenny specialize in creating beautiful, restful and wonderfully practical landscapes that will endure and mature.

- Columbine Landscaping Services Include: Consultation for Landscaping and Gardening - Expert horticultural advice and design vision to guide your planning and answer your burning; esoteric, and/or frequently asked questions. Design - Create landscape design plans from demolition to construction and planting phases, all in one package. Drainage - French drain systems, sump pumps, and downspout routing to street. Retaining and Freestanding Wall Construction - Build walls of stone, dry stacked and mortared. Also concrete, interlocking block, stucco and wood. Natural stone and fabricated stone veneer walls. Patios - Mortared flagstone, brick, slate, and tile. We specialize in patio construction. Pathways and garden steps as well. Decks, Fences and Trellis Work - Redwood, Trex, cedar, imported hardwoods. Planting - Beautiful, and often unusual plants in striking or restful combinations. Whether eff icient or seemingly extravagant, always designed to suit and please the client. Water Features - Still ponds, koi ponds, waterfalls, fountains, etc., We are ready to plumb. Irrigation - Automatic timers with all irrigation. We install both drip irrigation, and underground pop-up types of irrigation. Driveways - Poured concrete, tinted concrete, cobblestone, and manufactured cobble pavers. Also, natural stone such as flagstone or slate on reinforced concrete slab base.
