        Overall

        Food is great especially for Oakdale. We had wanted a sushi restaurant for so many years and Makara does a fantastic job. I love the Golden Gate roll. Service is not always great, sometimes they are overrun with customers, but the food is worth the wait.

        I love sushi! Makara is good but could use some improvement...Fresher fish, and lower prices to start. Miki's and Osaki are not as high priced and have much better sushi. A value menu at lunch is ideal!!! Over all they are descent, but I would still drive to Modesto for quality sushi at this point.
