Teeth Cleaning
Proper oral hygiene is required to maintain a healthy mouth. Brushing, flossing, and antibacterial mouthwash are the basis of oral health. The next step in healthy oral hygiene is a professional cleaning, also referred to as prophylaxis, every six months.
Dental Sealants
Dr. Keyes offers dental sealants to children and teens up to the age of 18 to help protect their vulnerable teeth in this period of growth. A dental sealant is a rubbery material that is simply brushed onto the teeth with a small brush that bonds to the teeth to seal out food and plaque. It is a painless procedure that provides valuable protection for the tooth enamel.

Fillings
Resin Composite
The placement of the filling in the mouth and patient budget are used to determine which type of filling material is used. Dr. Keyes can suggest the best option for your fillings. There are four different types of fillings – Composite resin, porcelain, silver amalgam, and gold.
Veneers
Veneers have been around for almost 100 years. Actors used to ask dentists to make their smiles look better for their filming careers. Unfortunately, at that time, there was not a way to keep the veneers on the teeth permanently. Eventually, better bonding agents were developed to allow veneers to be attached permanently to teeth. Since then, they have become popular in correcting problems with stained or gapped teeth and fixing chipped or misshapen teeth.
Crowns
Dental crowns are used to restore a tooth to its original shape and size. The damaged tooth is covered with a "cap" (the crown) and cemented into place.
Bridges
A dental bridge can fill spaces in a dental arch (top or bottom) by adding a false tooth (or teeth) and attaching it to two abutment teeth on the sides of the gap. A bridge is sometimes referred to as a denture and is more commonly made of porcelain, but are available in different materials. The color of the replacement teeth is matched to the remaining teeth so well that no one would even know you have dentures in your mouth.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
When a tooth is severely decayed, infected, or broken (but not through the root), a root canal may be needed to save the entire tooth from needing an extraction. Preventing the loss of a tooth is the highest priority in dental health.

Deep Cleaning
Dental cleanings are done by a certified dental hygienist. Certification is given after an intense training program on how to properly use specialized tools for deep cleaning and how to spot problem areas that Dr. Keyes may need to examine.

Dentures
If you are missing an entire row of teeth (top or bottom) or just a few, dentures are an excellent choice for replacing those teeth. Dentures are removable for cleaning and custom-made to fit your mouth.
Overdentures
Overdentures require any remaining teeth to be prepared for the denture to be placed directly over them. Overdentures are an excellent replacement method if some teeth can be saved, and it provides less bone loss in the jaw, which prevents the muscles from sagging on the cheeks.

Dental Implants
Dr. Gordon D. Keyes offers his patients one of the most popular replacement methods for missing teeth. Dental implants are the closest substitution to having a natural tooth. Implants allow patients to return to normal life, confidently eating, talking, laughing, and smiling as before the loss of the tooth.

Tooth Extractions
A tooth extraction is a procedure in which the entire tooth is removed from the jawbone, root and all. Fortunately, an extraction isn't really as scary as it sounds. The fear of the unknown is the worst part of having a tooth pulled. Knowing ahead of time that the extraction will not be as painful as you would think it sounds goes a long way to making it a better experience.

Braces
No one wants to have a tooth pulled. Unfortunately, due to injuries, disease, or infection, tooth extraction is necessary (or possibly needing to make room for tooth movement, such as with braces). Dr. Keyes and his staff strive to make his patients as comfortable as possible in the event of a necessary tooth extraction.
