Over the weekend, my wife and I went to IKEA to find a couch. At that time we scheduled delivery for today between 1 and 5 pm. I received a call yesterday at 6pm to verify delivery time. To make that delivery time, I had to take 4 hours off of work. At 6 pm with no couch delivered, we decided to call the IKEA store to learn what happened to the delivery. Supposedly, the delivery service attempted to make 1 and only 1 phone call this morning while I was at work where I can not receive phone calls and did not try again during the delivery window I was supposed to be available.

Currently on the line for IKEA call center. There is no way to call IKEA Baltimore directly. According to the IKEA call center, the only option is to reschedule the delivery for a week from the day I paid to receive delivery by. Again I restate, DO NOT PAY FOR DELIVERY FROM IKEA. Better to rent a truck and do it yourself.

Bad customer service

Me and my fiance went to the IKEA store on honeygo blvd we received a gift from our house warming party when my fiance went to the counter she was told that we could only get a mailed check and not store credit but when we called customer service about the no receipt return they said it was a satisfaction guaranteed return policy the man Jon in charge of returns said no manager was there on 1/10/15 to find out 15 min later that was a lie he said we were rude and called security who followed us around the store we still spend money and bought a queen size bed and I recorded the entire situation on my phone I will never shop there again and I would not recommend IKEA to a friend

The worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have been trying to almost a month to get broken parts mailed to me and I have been lied to multiple times. Yay! The parts came today! Except that they sent the wrong parts!!!!!!!!

Run, don't walk, from this store.

Painfully bad customer service in case of a problem

After spending hundreds of dollars and four round trips to Ikea in an attempt to resolve an issue with one of their wardrobe cabinets, we are extremely upset and frustrated.

We put the wardrobe together and the factory-drilled holes splintered as soon as we lifted up the wardrobe to stand it upright. That required undoing hours of work, carrying a huge and very heavy load up and down the steps and out to the street to load, and another trip to Ikea to return the wardrobe. Once the new wardrobe had been put together, the sliding doors would not open and close properly. This caused way too much time on the phone with the help line (which didn't help at all) and another trip to Ikea. The manager, Jeff, was as mean as he could be, trying to pacify us but acting as though he did not care at all that we had spent hundreds of dollars, several trips, time and aggravation and were ending up with an apparently defective product. Last time we'll be buyinig at Ikea. The employees are helpful but while Ikea brags about its environmental care, it's customer care for problems is nonexistent.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On April 29, 2009, I decided to surprise my husband with a brand new designer platform bed for our bedroom. The saleslady was almost certain that the bed would more that likely fit in our car. Once, we arrived at they were front of the store and actually got to see the actual size of the boxes, we knew instantly that it was not going to fit in our car. We were given a couple of options, one in which we definitely were not going to consider. we were told to have everything delivered for 100.00 dollars only after paying 400 for the bed frame and slates. We made an agreement with management to come back and get our paid merchandise being as though we would have our suv. The very next day, it was a terrible storm, and we did not want to risk carrying anything on top of our vehicle, so we decided to return the next day. The very next day the store manager called us to let us know that they were refunding our money and the items were being put back in stock. Now, this doesn't sound that bad does it ? Well, would u believe it if I told you that we were told that any store bought item would be held at a storage cost of 20.00 per day after if the merchandise was not picked up. In addition, to that the store manager was very rude and nasty, and even accused me of lying about the thunderstorm that took place on the evening of my original pick up date. This so called manager even went out of her way to ask one of the employees in the background if it indeed rained or not, and felt stupid when the person confirmed that it did rain. After, hearing all of this I was highly upset with her and made a conscious decision to make noise about the whole establishment. We live in a very crucial time and I think that it is very imperative for businesses to keep all of their customers. At this point, I will not recommend anyone to shop their because of the experience we had. I have been shopping at ikea for over ten years and one incident has cost them a customer. Today, is April 28, 2009 and we are going to pick up the merchandise and this will be the last time that I return. To sum it up, I don't recommend this place to anyone who cares about customer service support.

IKEA is it honest or not?

A few weeks ago I've purchased office mat. Trying to bring my car closer to the door I've left this item at the checkout for less than two minutes. When I came back the item was returned back to the stock. No complains were accepted the clerk told me this is a policy of the store that all items not attended even for the short period of time is restocked for the resell. Writing to IKEA HQ didn't help either. What you think is it a still or not?

If you are in the market for low range furniture

Ikea is the place for you. Almost all of the furniture you have to assemble yourself which is one of the reasons it is cheap. The assebly I have never had a problem with, but some may. The furniture for kids is awesome and has lasted me for years. They have a little restaurant that is hit and miss. Some of the food is great while others is not so great, but I suppose that depends on your tastes. Also one of the cheapest places to buy the energy efficient squiggly light bulbs.

everything under the moon

You can get everything here - from clothes hangers to plates to kitchen cabinets. Unfortunately many items need assembly but that is why things are so reasonably priced. I also don't consider this long term - last forever furniture. Definitely good for kids and college or a first apartment.
