After my drain was clogged for my tub for the weekend and unable to reach a plumber, this company did call me 1st thing Monday morning. I explained the drain was clogged & I wanted the old galvanized pipe replaced. (I want the pipe replaced as all the corrosion is going to lead to the pipe clogging again, so I figure fix the the problem correctly the 1st time) The owner of the company said not a problem to take care of it and would come out that afternoon. I made arrangements for my neighbor to let him in as I had to be at work. Well when my neighbor asked the "plumber" (who is the owner of this company) about the pipes (I had told her what I wanted done) he told they were not a problem, he doesn't need to do that. He went upstairs and unclogged the drain with a snake. Yes there was dog hair in the pipe, as I do bath my dogs in the tubs. The corrosion of galvanized pipes allow for hair to easily get trapped and clog drains.
When I got home after working 10+ hrs, I was very unhappy to see I still had the old galvanized pipes I wanted replaced. I had been called by 3 other plumbers who would have changed them for me as I had worked with them before, but since this company called me 1st I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they would do as I requested. Big Mistake. This company never called me to let me know of the work they were going to do or even the work they did perform at all. When I called & asked why he did not replace the pipes (this is at 7:30pm after I finally came home from work) his response was he doesn't do plumbing, only drains. Well first of all he never stated that when I spoke to him. He told me not a problem to take care of it. The "it" is the job I requested of replacing the galvanized pipes so the drain doesn't clog again. Secondly, his website says he does plumbing, that is false advertizing. Also he charged me $135 to unclog a drain with a snake during normal business hrs. This was not on a weekend or after hours. I could have had my pipes replaced for less than that, which is what I wanted. This owner was condescending saying that the work I wanted done was a lot more work than I think it is.. However, the work was exactly as I thought it was since I had family who came up to replace the pipes for me a week or so later. That's right, he did inform after not doing to work I wanted & I had to call him to find out if he even did anything at all that he doesn't do plumbing, only drains. After being exhausted after work I was not in the mind frame to argue. I want to inform people so no one else gets mislead by this company. There prices are way too high, I have had plenty of other plumbing work done for a much more reasonable price. Also the other companies do the work I request, if there are anything different they discuss it with me. I have reported this company to the BBB as I find it is bad business for him not to inform me at anytime that he does not have the ability to do the specific work I requested. If all I wanted was the drain to be snaked, I would have gone to Lowe's & bought a snake & done it myself.
