Today 2/23/2015 I went in to get some scrubs for work a little bit after 4 o'clock rushing in knowing they were about to close at 4:30. When I walked in I was very polite as usual and I asked the lady ( didnt get a name) for light grey scrubs and she assisted me with finding some really nice ones that she had available but kept pointing me out to the ones that were cheaper in price and left more pricier ones on the rack but I let that slide. She handed me a few and said I can try them on and I did just that. While changing I seen a sign that said no visa MasterCards or anything of that sort accepted and I asked her just to make sure the sign was up to date and she said no just cash or checks. Having only credit cards on me I had no choice but to leave the ones I've chosen on hold till tomorrow morning. As far as I know there weren't too many large sizes in the color that that I needed so I just put one top & bottom on hold. The lady taking down the information went about asking me about my job and what do I do and what I did prior to my new job. Ending toward the end of the conversation she put the clothes in a bag with my name on top till the next day the lady came straight out and said you're all set for tomorrow you can come get them in the morning and when you get your first check and get a little bit more money you can come get some more. So basically she was insinuating that I am a BROKE BLACK female and have no money to buy more than one uniform when 1 they did not have the sizes I needed to purchase more & 2 they didnt accept cards! I am so shocked, hurt, and in disbelief. I'm pretty sure if I came in with a black male along side me the cops would have been called. After all that k wished her a good evening and went about my way.
