At Creekside Animal Clinic, an oral exam is a part of every puppy’s and kitten’s first visit with us. After any pet surgery, we’ll provide detailed instructions for their home care. Your pet will also go home with pain medications, and we may suggest laser therapy as a form of complementary pain management, too. Small dogs and large dogs will actually respond to acupuncture differently. Small dogs will typically come and receive acupuncture because of musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis, intervertebral disk disease, or traumatic nerve injury. Laboratory Services
Dental procedures require anesthesia. There is no other way to give your pet a thorough, effective teeth cleaning. Anesthesia does carry some small level of risk, but we minimize this with several precautions. These include pre-anesthetic blood work, an IV catheter supplying fluids, patient warming, and extensive monitoring. We use the same precautions for dentals as we use for every surgery.
X-Ray
The images produced by digital radiography are of much better quality than film radiographs and can be manipulated digitally, giving us the best possible radiographic information to help us diagnose your pets.
Dental Radiology
Digital dental X-rays are essential a few months after these procedures, especially after VPT, to check that the teeth are healthy and that the pulp remains “alive.” Dead pulp requires surgical extraction of the tooth.
Microchipping
There is one way to help! By microchipping your pets, you can avoid the feeling of loss if your pets were to go missing.
