i am very surprised by the previous review. This diner has got to be one of the best diners around. the food quality and service are outstanding. all of their servers are very nice and that is true regardless of their ethnicity. this customer had a bad experience and decided to bash the diner and its management all over the internet and that doesnt seem fair to me. after reading the review, it seems to me that the manager did the nice thing by trying to give the guy a discount on your bill.. since youve been to HUNDREDS of diners and all, maybe you should be more understanding.. half of 8 dollars is 4 dollars isnt it?? lol im sure you werent still hungry when you left the place since you ate a burger. if the manager hadnt offered the discount, thats a different story.
This diner is just so great that i cant stand bad things being said about the place. People should try this place if they want to see what a diner really is!! great food, from the burgers to stuffed lobsters :-)

The only *good thing* was the lovely latina girl who served us on this (and a previous) night.
The Burger I ordered was absolutely horrendous.. cold, mushy, and devoid of any taste or flavor. I took two bites and returned it. When the aforementioned latina girl asked ""How's everything?"" I stated that the Burger was definately thumbs down. She responded ""Oh, ahhh OK."" and nothing more- which seemed to go against her cheery attitude.
She then bought the check I asked about having the Burger removed from the check because it was just plain lousy and tasted like it was laying in the corner of the grill for some unsuspecting diner patron.
She then said- like a robot- ""You have to go see the Manager!"" at which point I said- ""Please send him over."" He (the Manager) then stayed on the phone for a while, so we got up and went to the counter.
The 30'ish Manager then said "" well, you ate 1/2 so I'll take only $4.00 off"" at which point (in amazement) I said ""please don't tell me you're pro-rating my Burger! and my wife (as nice a woman as they come) said ""look- just leave it on the bill, and you just lost us as customers!
This ""Manager"" then instructs us on how/when to voice displeasure over a burger that was a whole $8.00! We usually tip twice that amount!!!!!
When a Diner (and we have eaten in HUNDREDS) views you as a ""half-burger eatin' scammer"" that simple speaks volumes to the Management.
I said to him, ""do you think we go from diner to diner"" just to scam them for 1/2 Burgers????
He had such a chit-eating grin as he talked to us that he simply ruined my entire night.
