My son went to this school for 4 years an was held back by them in kindergarten, last year in third grade they told me my son was unable to keep up anymore, an I was advised to take him to a psychiatrist recommended by them so they would be able to help him , once the diagnosis was found the school turned there back on my son an said they were no longer able to help him , not to mention the cost it cost me for the diagnosis , an the sacrifice of paying out tuition as well, to make a long story short be careful were you take your children an trust others with there little lives , even though I'm a firm believer that God don't make mistakes for your faith, an that this is probably a blessing in disguise , I feel they failed my son an my family in more ways then one.

We were looking for a Christian school with strong academics and unfortunately we should have done much more research. Here are the list of things you should know that is not stated anywhere on their website that we had to find out the hard way:-This is a family run business owned by Herc Palmquist (do a Google search in order to verify all information I am providing). The Principal, Beckie Soliz, is the daughter of the Palmquist's. This is important b/c if a major problem happens like it did for us, you only have Beckie Soliz to speak with about it. Everyone who works at the school is either related to the Palmquist family or are very close friends. There is not a school board posted on their website like other private schools. We were told there was a board but were never allowed to speak with anyone except Beckie Soliz and a new person named John Trevino who is introduced as a second "Principal". The problem is, Mr. Trevino works for the family so you are back to square one because he reports directly to the daughter/Principal. To summarize, this doesn't provide a checks and balances system when you have a family owned school. Your only choice will be, pull your child out of the school and keep paying tuition for a school your child doesn't attend.-Academics are way behind. We were told by the Principal that the real "bread and butter" of this school is the 2-4 year old PreK and the International students they get from African missionary programs. This has to be why the academics are so behind in comparison to other private school curriculum.-Accreditation-It states on their website and brochure they are accredited by 2 different organizations academically. When we tried to report our issues with the school to these organizations, we were told Texas Christian School is not listed as an academically accredited school with them.In summary, if you are related or friends of someone at the school, this might work for you. If not, be very careful.
This was my first time and last time ordering & going here.I called and placed an order to go, they took my order (8 pupusas) & they hung up on me. I went in to pick up my order, asked me what name it was under & I told them nobody asked for my name, they just hung up on me, the waitresses looked at each other and laughed. I waited 5 minutes, they handed me my order and I headed home. I opened my containers and only 7 pupusas were given to me. I called them, they said to call them back in 5 minutes because they needed to talk to the kitchen cooks. I called back after a couple minutes, they said I needed to talk to the cook & when she answered the phone, I told her that I was missing 1 pupusa. She was such a bitch & raised her voice at me saying "no you're not because I gave you 8, 4 in each container so what do you want?" I told her "I'm missing 1 pupusa, there's only 7, I just got home and opened the container" she proceeded to yell, and tell me that it wasn't possible for me to be missing one pupusa and that she wasn't going to give me one more because she was certain she gave me 8. I told her I paid for 8 and only got 7 & if she couldn't give me what I paid for I'd call my bank and dispute the transaction because they weren't providing me with the goods I paid for, and my kids were waiting because we were missing food. She lowered her voice and said "yeah well that's very strange because I know that I gave you your complete order but I guess if you must have another one I can make it". Completely rude, with no sense of manners or communication skills. The place is small and dirty, they don't use gloves to cook, and to top it off they don't care about losing business or gaining potential customers. Disgusting excuse for a restaurant and disgusting excuse for hospitable staff.
We had very bad experience in Hanlin Academy at 7505 Fannin St. The principle is the nightmare for our kid. She exaggerated every misbehavior my son did, and even shout at him or kept saying that my son should stay at home for a couple of days.
Beth Bashinski (owner and principal) doesn't care about the students. She yells at them and only wants your money. She shuffles the kids who are falling behind on because she doesn't want to seem like a failure. Leading to her failing the children. She's petty and vindictive. All of the teachers except her are leaving the school and not returning in the fall of 2017. If you care about your children at all don't take them here.
Proud Pre-AP mom!! My son is very happy with school. He has straight As, he's in odyssey of the mind, karate, robotics and wrestling. They keep him busy!
Great after school program which engages youth and children to support their learning skills to become a valued life experience. The Summer program is awesome! Children are learning life skils such as good character traits such as courtesy, honesty, and respect for others. A simple lesson in line dancing teaches coordination, but also teamwork! I recommend this program for children and youth who could use some life extras!Brenda
It's awful . Save your money!!! It's the worst school in the Bay Area by far. They need to be shut down.
I walked in and heard yelling from the principle, the staff are also very rude. These good reviews about this trash organization are made by the SCHOOLS BOARD MEMBERS. this school is terrible. shut it down.
Quality care at an affordable rate. Clean, educational, caring environment. Lots of learning materials and age appropriate toys. Playground is awesome!!!
