Ophthalmology
The Light Adjustable Lens is made from a unique material that is photosensitive, which means that it can be molded by exposure to UV light. Once the lens is placed and the patient has healed, the patient returns to our office so our eye doctors can perform a series of customization treatments. After a brief examination, Dr. Montgomery or Dr. Dugan exposes the LAL to UV light which makes tiny alterations to the curvature of the lens. Dr. Montgomery graduated summa cum laude from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, where he completed his undergraduate studies in Philosophy and Chemistry. He went on to receive his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Montgomery then completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas before returning to UT Southwestern Medical Center to complete his residency in Ophthalmology.
