Freakin awesome. Food is dope, servers and staff are totally radical. I especially love all the fish on the wall, makes you feel like you're under da sea.

Rarely go now compared to before they changed the coleslaw! The coleslaw has gone to the dogs. This place has been a favorite for many years, however.... Seafood and delicious coleslaw go together like bread and butter and the coleslaw recipe had changed and it is horrible compared to what use to be. As the story goes, the guy who made the coleslaw retired and the new guy is suppose to be using the same recipe--not so. I have not talked with anyone in line who is happy with the new version of slaw any of the times I have been since the change including today. Today we were told that the retired guy was Melvin and they didn't know if he was still living..furthermore, he must have taken his secret recipe with him--I would think the owner or someone on the wait staff would know what the coleslaw should be like.
Violent Food Poisoning!! Will never go back! A $40 meal ended up costing us $2500 in medical expenses! My husband and I went to dinner there one evening and he started feeling badly in his stomach within an hour. By 3am I had to call the ambulance because he was so violently ill from throwing up that I thought he was going to die - he could hardly speak and was terribly pale. I've never had such a terrifying experience in my life -- I thought I was going to lose my husband!! We contacted the Wake County Health Inspector and he informed us of an inspection that occurred after our horrible experience (which we had let the owner know about) where the inspector made them throw away food that was improperly stored that could allow staphylococcus aureus bacteria to grow - which is probably what happened to my husband. It was ridiculous to me that the owner had not taken much if any action to prevent future patrons from getting sick! The full inspection report is available on wakegov.com and WRAL, but I have taken the liberty of putting the message from the health inspector below. "On the unannounced April 27, 2015 inspection of Manchester's Bar & Grill, I documented a number of violations. I had them discard a lot of food and asked that they stop using their walk-in cooler. They had cooling violations that allow Staphylococcus aureus to grow in food that causes an actual poisoning with an on-set in 1 to 6 hours. If that bacteria grows in food, people consume the poison that the organism produces so customers may begin vomiting on their ride home. The inspection report is available to the public on wakegov.com and WRAL."
By far one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We went on a Monday evening for the price fixe menu and had reservations. We were seated promptly and our waiter asked for our drink order. We weren't given a wine menu so he returned with one and it was about fifteen minutes later than he came back to take our order. We ordered drinks and dinner at the same time. Our appetizers came out promptly. Unfortunately it was another hour and ten minutes before our entrees arrived. Many tables around us that arrived after us received their meals first. I told the waiter that I realize this probably wasn't his fault but that I would like to speak to a manager. The portions were small, my order of scallops consisted of three. My husbands medium rare steak was very overcooked. He has never sent back a meal before, but did this time after the waiter told him to "cut into the middle, it might be medium rare there." I again asked to speak to the manager and was told that "some people don't understand that fine dining takes time." I said I would agree if the tables around us had not received their meals first. He said "different meals take different times." The table beside us had scallops as well and as I said previously, my husbands steak was overcooked. We asked for the check and our desserts to go. The manager never came over and we got tired of waiting for desserts and left. This was my fourth time dining here and it will be my last. Also, I posted this on their facebook page and they deleted it.
Its like a mall food court. Frozen food. Steak sandwich was good though. Waiter was super friendly.
The food was great the waiter was really personal and made us feel we picked a great place to spend a Rainey Sunday afternoon
Sauce and rub are very good but the service is terrible. I ordered and PAID for 4 kits totaling $71.04 on August 31 and still have not received and phone number is not in working service!
So my wife and drive by this place all the time but never been, finally we decided to check it out. We went on a Saturday evening and ended up having like hour wait, but boy let me tell you, it was totally worth it! The staff was super friendly and helped out understanding the menu, and the food was unreal, so good!
I had the worst burger here that I have ever eaten in my life. It was burnt to a crisp and as dry as a bucket of sand. The bun was soggy like water had been spilled on it. It made me physically sick. I use to like their chicken quesadillas but then they started putting beans in them. So I would ask for no beans and I was accommodated, depending on who was working, apparently. Sometimes I would be told "no problem" and sometimes I would be told "sorry but they are pre-made". I would express disappointment and point out I had successfully gotten this item without beans just a week earlier. The response to this was that I must have them confused with another restaurant. Yeah right. I gave up on them and started going to Handy Kitchen, located in the same strip.. They appreciated my business.
My mama loves this place. My daughter and I carry her to this location occasionally and the food is good, the staff very friendly.
