Elliott Beach Rentals

Elliott managed our condo at N Myrtle Beach for 18 yrs and did an excellent job. We highly recommend them!

I spent a week at the Ocean Mist 2 rental unit in North Myrtle Beach, SC from Elliott Realty. I would not recommend staying in this unit. The pictures on the website are more like false advertising. They are very out of date. The TV in the photo is not the one in the unit, it is an older model TV and there is no DVD or VHS player although it says there is one on the website ("There’s a television and a DVD."). The chairs in the picture of the dining area are not the ones in the unit. The refrigerator is dirty, outside and inside. The microwave is even worse, disgusting. I didn't dare look inside the oven. They provide the bare minimum in the kitchen. No pots or pans. Just a few plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. The carpet is filthy. Stains are everywhere throughout the unit. The vacuum does not work well. The locks on the doors are very difficult to lock/unlock. The 1/2 bathrooms are very small, possibly why there are no pictures on the website. The separate shower is filthy also. Maybe they should spend $8.00 and get a new shower curtain. The one provided has mildew stains all over. There are no shelves for clothes/towels in the shower room. The bedrooms are not any better. The comforters provided have all sorts of stains on them. The mattresses appear to be 20 years old. Out of shape, loaded with mystery stains, and falling apart. The stuffing was coming out of them. The place also has ants. When entering the unit there was a card on the table stating: "This room was especially prepared for you by Dorothy/Lorrie/Melicent". Perhaps they should hire people who actually know how to clean. There were candy wrappers around the bunk bed and there was food left in the fridge. There was nothing "charming" about these "accommodations". The only good part was the beach. When I spoke to the manager at the main office about the unit his response was that they have pricier units that may be better. For the prices they ask for this unit I expect a lot more than what they provided. I will not be returning here and I will never use Elliott Realty again.

EDIT: I received a letter from Elliott Realty after providing this review on their website. The letter stated their appologies and offered a $100 discount on my next stay with them. However, for some reason Elliott Realty did not feel the need to put a stamp on the envelope and I had to pay the .45 cents to pick up the letter from the post office. Elliott can keep their $100, I will never use them again! Also after 3 weeks I am still waiting the my pet deposit to be refunded - which they said would take between 2 to 3 weeks when I asked about it. Still waiting....

The people at Elliott were really friendly and helpful when we were looking for vacation rentals. They were very patient and found us a rental based on our budget and amenities. Got a spacious rental a few rows back from the ocean and was a great time.
