Slice of Sicily is a quaint little restaurant that serves the lunch crowd. You wont be going there for the authenticity of the food or the decor but the prices are more than reasonable. Most lunch specials are under $6 and the food is fair. I say fair as in passable. The female staff is lovely and sweet however their knowedge of anything italian in general is minimal. Overall in closing it seems like a person that doesnt know about their culture or food but calls themself italian does their best to follow a book recipe to cook and tje finished product is passable. Ill go eat here as a last resort on occassion. Its a few steps up from a frozen mean but many steps below a traditional italian restaurant. I hope you found this review helpful.
Hello: I went to Nello's pizza tonight and was very disappointed. The service from our waiter was unacceptable, he did not check on our table once. Granted it was busy, however, we observed him chatting with the tables on either side of us, often ignoring us all together. The atmosphere was extremely loud and noisy, we had to wait 15 minutes to get in, almost 30 mins to get our food and wait an additional 10 for our check. The food was okay, but definitely not the best we've had. I thought the place was nice at first, but it left me feeling exceedingly disappointed. If I could be content with the mediocre I would go there again. As it stands this was my first and last visit. Thank you,
We recently moved to Phoenix and were delighted to find this great little bistro just a short walk from our home. We've now visited several times and haven't been disappointed once. It's a family run restaurant that offers great service and great food. They have a really nice little wine bar, but we especially enjoy their Sunday brunches. They have some of the most amazing bacon, and this awesome tomato cream confit sauce that really makes for a fantastic omelette! On our last visit we enjoyed the patio seating and brought our backgammon set so we could enjoy a nice leisurely brunch and have some fun. Oh, and the mimosa's are great, too!
my boyfriend and i drove to phoenix last night to walk around and grab dinner. we had only been there a few times before, so instead of making reservations, we wanted to walk around and choose a place that looked popular. after checking out a few restaurants, we decided to dine at pizza italia. although we had to wait 25 minutes for a table for two, it was worth it. the ambiance of the restaurant was great--had a nyc vibe to it, and the food was tasty. i ordered the gnocchi. it was pillowy soft and had a great flavor. it was the perfect portion too. we will go back to this restaurant soon!
I love the thin crust pizza! With chicken, onions and tomatoes---um, YUM! And my husband always gets a calzone loaded with meats and cheeses. The restaurant is small and so there will be a wait on high traffic days, but you can order (or call ahead) for takeout. The bar is in the front entrance, with only 6 or 8 barstools, and right where people are waiting to be seated or get their takeout...so not really where you want to hang out for drinks, but the food is good and i would definitely recommend giving Spinatos a try.
I am tired of Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Papa John's. I am also tired of paying a ton to have someone else deliver fair pizza. I found the answer. Angel's Pizza is really good. The crust was perfect and the sauce had a very distinct flavor, it was great. I have to admit the cheese sticks weren't great, but the pizza more than made up for that. I think they were baked or grilled rather than fried. Try them though! Anyway, they were nice, fast, and reasonably priced. All in all I am excited about my new find!!
This place is not totally bad, but it isn't good either. I've eaten there twice and ordered delivery three times so I think I've given them a very fair chance. The dine-in experiences were much better than the delivery experiences, but still nothing to rave about. I really tried to like them because they are one of three places we've found that deliver to us. Pizzas and calzones are ok. I did not care for the sandwich, wrap or hamburger that I tried.
I order from Sardella's on a regular basis because they have the best pizza around. It's not like those big chain pizza places with their cookie cutter pizzas. Your pizza will be made with hand tossed dough and only the best ingredients. At least I think so, never had a bad pizza from them yet. They have a courteous staff and prompt delivery, which means hot pizza for you. They also have great wings and specials, just ask when you call.
The Sicilian Sandwich is the best! I have never found another restaraunt that makes it. Basically a rolled up crust stuffed with mozzarella cheese, cubes of various meats, green peppers, etc (no pizza sauce inside). It is amazing! After I moved away from Phoenix I had family freeze dry several of the Sicillians and ship them to me in another State (need to place another order soon).
