My Sears Kenmore over the range microwave oven suddenly stopped working after I had it for 6 and one half years. Since I had a Sears in home service contract, I contacted Sears customer service on Friday and the service technician came to my house on Monday and discovered that my Kenmore microwave oven had a faulty switch and that was the reason the turntable stopped rotating and the heat was not working. He put in a new switch and now my microwave oven is working okay. I received very prompt and courteous service and since the microwave repair was covered in the Sears home warranty contract,there was no charge for parts or labor.

I was pleasantly surprised at the kindness and the knowledge the service man had when fixing my upright freezer. He provided information about how to properly care for the product after fixing it and didn't act as if he was on a time clock. I was not rushed when talking with him and he actively engaged in completing the work in a timely manner. I would recommend this service company for anything that needs to be fixed.

A Technician came to my home Monday, January 18th and diagnosed my too warm fridge as having a coolant leak and needing a new evaporator. The part was ordered and another appointment was scheduled for Monday, January 25th.



Another technician came to my home on Monday, January 25th. He called me on the morning of the repair to say he would be there at 1pm. I took off work, using my earned vacation time, to meet him at the scheduled time. He arrived at 2:15pm. Around 4 pm he informed me that there was nothing wrong with my fridge and I should send the part back for a refund. I showed him where the original technician said the leak was located and he said he would have to put the part in to fix a leak in that spot. I advised him that I had a church event at 6:30pm and he said it wouldn't take that long. 



3 and 1/2 hours later he said it was fixed and he just had to put in Freon. It is after 7:30 pm at this point. He finally left at 8:15pm claiming to have installed the part correctly. 



First of all, being at home alone in a very rural area with no close neighbors that late in the evening with a man I do not know is unacceptable. Not to mention the vacation time I was using, and the Church event I was forced to miss. Second of all, the fridge is worse than it was before the "repair" was performed. My freezer was originally getting to about 25 degrees and my fridge was at 40. I had not needed to throw out anything in the fridge until this morning. I had already lost a lot of stuff in the freezer, which is what prompted the repair request. Due to the incompetence of the 2nd technician, I have now lost everything in the fridge as well.  The fridge and freezer will not even make cold water as of this morning.  I am beyond dissatisfied with the service.



After I called customer service this morning, they told me they could not refund my money, but could only offer me a $40 gift card to SEARS! They said the only remedy was to have a 3Rd technician come back out to inspect what is now wronf with the fridgr. Taking off work for another technician to come to my house is no longer an option when I have lost all confidence in the abilities of Sears to make sure their technicians are properly trained.

Excellent repair service on my Kenmore Elite dishwasher provided by technician Justin on 1/15/16. I appreciated his accurate diagnosis and comprehensive repair skills. He worked neatly and efficiently, and he responded with great patience when my big, nosy dogs wanted to see what he was doing. Best of all, my dishwasher works now.

Overall

Have a sears protection maintenance plan on 2011 Kenmore fridge. Work was well done by repairmen but get promised refund of expenses while fridge was down was almost impossible. Promises were not kept, had to threaten to get results. Could tell inept service reps. were trained to give as little service as possible.

Got almost all that was promised but had to continually call and document. You must document or they got you.

I have the Sears Protection maintenance plan on my 2004 washer and dryer. It is the best thing I have ever done. Very easy to make appointments; they are very prompt and repairman very cordial and knowledgeable. Love it Love it Love it.

Do not trust them. They took advantage of my wife. She went in for an alignment and the told her the strut was broke and it wasn't safe to drive. Then they told her the ball joints were worn out. I put new ones on two years ago, and the car was parked most of the time during the two years. Then they told her she needed new strut mounts. I told her to bring the old parts home so I could see what broke. I have been working on cars for over 25 years, but didn't have time to work on this car at the time. There was nothing wrong with the old parts. The struts were fine (nothing was broke), the ball joints could not have been worn out(they broke them removing them, and the strut mounts were not that bad. Then the employees were making fun of my wife. They called her and thought they hung up but it didn't hang up. My wife's cell recorded them making fun of her. I will never use them again.

sears is a alright store to shop it occassion have good sales they really needs to have more discount sales and more coupons and rebates the prices is ok needs to be lower than i would shop there more often
