Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock

My 93 year old dad was in Springhill Baptist CCU for three days due to COPD and congestive heart failure. The nurses were great and the doctors were wonderful. The dietitian was so helpful, even called to check on dad after a week of being at home.
The HOUSEKEEPING is terrible. The floors were so nasty. The bathroom smelled like mildew. During our 3 day stay we had to ask for clean gowns for dad. His bed was not changed during 3 days nor did we see HOUSEKEEPING. This should be one of the main things done to keep down infections. There is no wonder people her infections after surgeries with this kind of housekeeping. This is a very sad situation
As I said above the nurses and doctors were very good and caring.
Would I recommend this hospital? NO

Wonderful staff. And over all very professional. In a time of distress I am glad we landed there. They seemed to predict our questions and concerns, and made sure we understood all procedures taking place.

Well, I've had multiple problems.



First off, I keep getting repeat bills for the same stuff over and over again even though I paid it already. It started with a bill for $17 then when I couldn't find the conformation number I just went ahead and paid it a second time. Later I found out that their billing department was messing up the claims to my insurance which resulted in my health insurance denying the claims for multiple appointments. I called up my insurance company and they said that all they needed to do was get a correctly filled out claim from the hospital and they would take care of it.



I tried talking to the claims department at 501-202-3900 and got to talk to a woman with a horrible attitude that kept telling me just to pay the bill. I thought I had health insurance for a reason but apparently the hospital hasn't been able to figure anything out in the past 6 months. I have had 5 separate bills that have been messed up and a random one for $77.50 with no explanation of where it came from. It just appeared out of nowhere.



Prior to this I have only had one problem in the past 15 years of going there and that was a random collection for $340 that they put on my credit report.



Now for the medical side of things.



My 3 year old fell off an exam table and knocked herself out for a few seconds and was acting a little tired. The doctor told me to take her over to the ER to have her checked out. When we got over there they actually tried checking her blood pressure with an adult size cuff, the damn thing covered her whole arm and was clearly labeled as an adult cuff. It took a total of 3 people to figure out how to take blood pressure then when it came time to weighing her they were lost as well. Taking her vitals was like watching a 2 year old try to put a puzzle together.





I honestly wouldn't have written this review if it weren't for the gross incompetence of the billing and claims departments. They need to get rid of some people or get whoever was in there that was worth a damn back.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I had a blocked liver duct and was close to going into a coma. There are so many things that went wrong too numerous to mention. I stayed overnight waiting for a test I needed asap.The male nurses made lewd comments about female patients all night. The doctor did nothing for me. The er nurses were a nightmare. This place almost killed me. My husband took me out and straight to St.Vincent's where I was immediately admitted to the ICU unit and almost died. I would have if I stayed at springhill.Do not go here. I had a friend who slipped on ice and had a severe break in her shoulder. They would not give her a pain shot because she was alone and they wanted her to have a ride home. She lay there screaming in pain for 2 hours until I could get there and it was very icy out. How cruel! They sent her home and she suffered horribly until I could get her to a doc the next day who ended up doing surgery on her. Unbelievable. I can't believe they are allowed to stay open. No telling how many people they have killed. Avoid this place no matter how sick or injured you are. They will kill you and all the staff are mean. The nurses kept calling my doctor "Dr.Sissy". Very unprofessional! 2 of the er nurses almost had a fist fight while I was there. There was a war vet on a stretcher they would not help to the bathroom.They were yelling at him and he finally urinated and defecated and was left to lie in it. They stuck him in a room and the nurse said to another "see if I go in and help him, when hell freezes over!" I didn't know such horrible places existed in America! Shocking! There's more but it would take 2 more pages to explain.

If I could give it less than a star I would. My mother had coronary bypass surgery there a month ago despite the plans of fixing her vascular disease first which was agreed to. Everything that could have went wrong did. Less than 24 hours after surgery she had to have GI surgery. Next day found out she had sepsis (blood infection). She had gotten taken off the ventilator only to be put back on it two days later. With the sepsis, the arteries not taken care of in her legs and neck, she has had a small stroke, and will be losing both of her legs. She has also developed bed sores under the care there. The doctor acts like he doesn't care whether she lives or dies. Her other doctors (those who had to come in after her other problems) were great at their jobs and probably the reason mom is still living, although barely. I have filed a complaint with the state medical board and have talked to several attorneys to sue the doctors and hospital for the insufficient care my mother has received. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone as you're more likely to come out less healthy than you were before going there.

The worst experience ever today, I waited in the waiting room for 2.5 hours..with preterm labor pains, they do not care if it's an emergency or not..I'm a nurse and was smarter than the dr on call, first when he walked in the room he had no idea I was preg, he also had no idea about the medication I was coming off of and the dangers to mother and child..only after being forced to do an ultrasound did they call my ob/gyn to get an order, otherwise, I would've gotten the same treatment last time, "labs" drawn, and they came back and said u are preg, I knew I had already had a miscarriage..I realize preg hormones take time to drop, weeks to months..and had it not for me being demanding they would have sent me away knowing nothing but that I had been preg which I already knew..upon leaving the room I looked up and noticed my urine specimen was still on the counter, untouched!! If it were not for my ob/gyn being there I would never ever ever go there again!

I took my mother to the ER due to severe stomach pains that was so severe we had to call 911 to bring her by ambulance. My mother waited 5 hours suffering in the ER. After the doctor saw two young patients beside for "smoking too much weed. " They found my mother had a perferated ulcer which means her stomach popped open and stomach acid was digesting her internal organs. She could have died but they didn't care. Rude nurses too. I wouldn't take a hamster to that place.

Do not go to there ER. Took my 81 year old mother after fall. Took 5 hours to get review of her CATSCAN. She was in worse shape having to stay there for almost hrs. Horribly run... rude nurses.

NEVER go here!! Spent 5 hours in the ER with severe stomach pains only for them to do an x-ray and blood work and say "we don't know what's wrong, but you aren't going to die today, so go home, take pain medicine and call your doctor."

I went to St. Vincent ER- they took me back immediately, got a CT and now I have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. SAME DAY, SAME PAIN....the difference is Baptist does NOT care about it's patience.



My friend's brother wen there and he was sent home with a pinched lung. Now he is paralyzed from the neck down because of a herniated disc that severed his spine!!



DO NOT GO HERE!!! GIVING ONE STAR BECAUSE I MUST SELECT ONE!

Horrible. my husbands hand is broke the bone is sticking out. we have been waiting two hours and happy smiley people have been back there before him. worse than white county
