I wish there was a way to give this company negative stars. One of the worst experiences ever. After a break in, my insurance company sent this joke of a company to my house. They did the emergency repair of the front door and then took weeks to get a new door to replace the damaged one. No communication in between. As they are repairing the door, they pull out the frame, but don't replace the 1x4s to secure the screws in to. I mention this to the guys and they said that's how it is, the screws just float there. I told them that this was unacceptable and they finished up and said they would return tomorrow. I sent photos of the "repair to my insurance, and we both agreed that the front entrance was less secure then before the break in. Yack did not return the next day and it took over a month before they did. So while waiting for them, I'm getting letters from my HOA to paint my door, which should have been done by them. My insurance company finally is able to get them back and someone who said he was important said, this wasn't done correctly and they would do it right. Two days later, they job is completed. They were real fast to hit me with my deductible payment. I explained to the man, that due to them taking so long to do their job correctly and the fact that I have three children living at home who are already nervous because of the incident; I had to add additional security measures to my house to make them comfortable. I explained that I would have my check by the end of the month and I would pay them then, he said it was fine. He then proceeds to send me a notification of intent to lien on my house for it before the end of a month. So they think it's alright to do below par work, take months to complete a one day job and then have the nerve to demand payment after stating you understood the end of the month. Avoid at all cost!!

Twins Drywall, this week, completed a drywall repair & paint in. my dining room. Armando was exceptional. He was responsive, on time, and professional. The job was completed in one day to accommodate my deadline. The work was perfection. Armando and his team protected my furniture from dust and cleaned up after the job. With all the con artists & unlicensed workers in Vegas, I did extensive research before selecting JDS Surfaces to create & install my new kitchen countertops and breakfast bar. Response to my initial phone call was prompt and their quote for Hanstone beat 2 other bids. Four days after final measurement, 3 workers did a perfectionist job and then cleaned every inch of my kitchen. Over the past 40 years I’ve hired many contractors to work on my homes in 3 states. I used this contractor to install drywall in a couple of mobile home units....they really did a great job! It was fast, I was able to meet the owner on-site within 24 hours and I think they're really easy to communicate with as a contractor. But even with all of this information, there are still many jobs that lie far outside the scope of most DIY enthusiasts. General contractors are there to fill in this gap.
A general contractor specializes in seeing a home remodel or repair project through from start to finish. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered. A lien dispute could also be prevented by performing due diligence prior to picking a contractor, as any contractor with good credit and a long track record of satisfied clients should have no trouble paying for materials and labor once all contract conditions have been met.
Once work is underway, it's never a bad idea to check up on the progress of the job, either by staying in touch with the contractor over the phone or visiting the site in person. If you work with a trustworthy professional, it's probably best to keep your distance and allow everyone to stay busy. If you want to keep an eye on things, make sure workers wear the right safety gear and that everything looks to be moving along according to schedule. Finally, once work is finished and you are satisfied, be sure to thank your contractor and tell friends or family members about your experience.
