My friend suggested fish & chips. He said the best one is this place. We came and I ordered a Captain Combo (2 pc fish & 1 black tiger shrimp, with fries), it was $6 something. I thought it was a deal. Most places I go, cost like $8 bucks for just 2 pcs of fish. The food was fresh and clean. The staff was friendly too, Marissa was great! I will definitely come back and bring my friends.

was craving fish and chips so I figured I would try H Salt Fish & Chips. For years I passed by this place and finally stopped in yesterday I was not impressed. It was mediocre and was very greasy and tasteless. Aside from the fish and chips I got the crab cakes which where also mediocre. Next time I will just go to Jack in the box. Their fish and chips taste better than this place. Oh and my order was to go when I got home they only gave me one crab cake instead of the two that come with the order
I used to like the food here some years back, went lately and it was terrible! and expensive! and rude staff who does not even speak english! and NOT enough fresh lemon! please people for this money they gotta offer better stuff! and how do restaurants with tables and chairs get away with NOT offering restrooms??

This place is the place to go when you are craving seafood (but they have chicken as well). The menu's simple and its in the famous NoHo Arts District. This little hangout has been serving up fish and fries in the Valley for more than 30 years. Family-owned and operated, you'll find scrumptious servings of fish, shrimp, oysters and lobsters. If you love all the things your doctor tells you not to eat, stop right here and splurge. You can eat in or take it home with you. Especailly the onion rings and shrimp..oh and I recommend the fish with their special Tartar sauce too Heck everything is good..and Priced just right and isnt a very long wait at all.
I'm Hooked! I look forward to eating there every Friday night.

I still cannot explain why I go to places like this. The food is clearly not good for me and yet I seem to return to this little H. Salt operation located at the large intersection of Camarillo, Vineland and Lankershim. They have no bathroom for the public and much of the signage on the walls or windows has not been changed for a long time. Yet they keep things relatively clean and seem to understand how to avoid the wrath of any authorities. I seriously doubt anyone would get stomach sickness from this food, but heart disease or obesity would be possible. Since I have been eating here off and on for about ten years, I can state with fair certainty that the size of the fish pieces and possibly other portions such as french fries has decreased. Recently a two piece combo had one piece of fish tapered to about 1/8"" at one end and barely more than 1/4"" at the other end, this after cooking. I had never remembered the fish being so thin and mentioned it to the cashier. She was adamant that ""THE FISH HAS BEEN CUT THE SAME WAY FOR 20 YEARS"". Then she kindly offered to furnish one replacement piece of fish, announcing loudly to the restaurant that ""I TOLD THEM TO GIVE YOU THE BIGGEST PIECE OF FISH WE HAVE"". I quietly told her that the other patrons might be unhappy with me since her offer would imply that their piece would not be as big as mine. In closing, an average sized piece would have been fine, thank you - just not the potato chip of a piece I got the first time. But this is what I deserve for eating this kind of food in the first place.
