We went to celebrate a milestone. We're from out of town. After waiting 50 minutes we were seated. The nice waitress took our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered rockfish. The fish arrived 25 minutes later and was burnt hard. We returned it. After waiting another 25 minutes for our meal, we flagged the waitress and asked for the bill. The waitress called the owner's daughter, who said she'll check on our food. She never returned. The owner came another 10 minutes later and apologized, offering more drinks. We asked for the bill for the two drinks. They brought out the food a few minutes later. We informed them again that we wanted the bill. We left with lost appetites and w/o celebrating how we planned.
We went to Woodys Crab House on February 16, 2009 and were shocked to find that most of the food seemed to be pre-packaged and just warmed up. The homemade onion rings were cooked in stale, dirty oil and were not crispy. The steak that I ordered was cooked to prefection, but the taste was so sour, like the meat had started to go bad before they cooked it. I took one bite and had to spit it out. I sent it back, but was afraid to order anything else. I did not want to end up in the hospital. My spouse who was with me ordered the Sirloin and Crab Cake and was not impressed, took a couple of bites and also sent it back.
This place would have been great, if the food had been fresh, because the atmosphere was casual and the staff were quite welcoming, but the only way to improve this restaurant would be a chef with pride in what he sends out of the kitchen.

Food Snob is amazed nobody has reviewed this spot. I tried 4 ""Crab Shacks"" on a trip East last week, and on the last day found this gem. 4 of us all had something different and none were dissapointed. Everything you want in a local crab house. Fresh local seafood, baked, broiled or fried. Great home brew, peanuts while you wait, great patio on a small seaport town main street. At the top of Cheasapeak Bay, home of the blue crab.... if you get close, do this spot.
