I would recommend Drum Hill Pediatrics to anyone! The wait time is minimal, and there is a great play area to keep the children busy while waiting. The highlight of the waiting area is a motorized train that chugs around the top of the walls that the kids can watch in amazement. The office staff is friendly and more than accommodating with scheduling/changing appointment times, timely referrals, and reminder calls. Their nurses are top notch, engaging the children in a playful manner to make them feel safe in a new environment, and quickly obtain needed measurements prior to seeing the physician. The exam rooms are clean and of good size when bringing more than one child. The exam rooms have a few toys the kids can play with while they are in there. The physicians at Drum Hill Pediatrics are some of the best I’ve encountered. Dr. Irving Newman started the practice and has been a pediatrician for 44 years. This type of experience makes me, as a parent, rest easier knowing that my children are in good hands, regardless of what type of illness they may face. My children love him, and he engages the children before starting the examination to make them feel more comfortable. He has Elmo and Cookie Monster hanging off of his stethoscope, and various other distractions such as a duck and clown nose to make the kids feel safe. He is extremely knowledgeable, and explains why certain manifestations of illness are occurring, and what can be expected in the future. He is great with anticipatory guidance, often giving helpful hints on what to expect on this journey called “parenthood” and the guidance does make parenting a little less stressful. Knowing that your child’s doctor truly cares about them, and about you as their parent, is invaluable, and that is exactly what you get at Drum Hill Pediatrics!
