We purchased a brand new C-Class Motor Home in October of 2016. It had been sitting for 6 months and we got a very good price on it. The service department is so poorly run, I don't know where to start. It's like the inmates are running the prison back there including the service manager. It was pretty obvious instead of doing a pre-inspection, they powered it up right before our delivery. When we took it home, the battery was dead, the hot water heater didn't work, and the tires were 20lbs too low. I still have other issues to get fixed like the steps that aren't working right, but I'd rather pay someone else to fix it even though it's covered by warranty.We're crossing our fingers we don't have any more issues until we can trade it in with someone that has a better reputation.What makes it even harder is that I'm a retired business consultant, and it's obvious they are losing tons of business for an array of reasons. They have a huge lot out back that is so full they can barely fit any more they're so backed up. The service department could probably double their business if they had someone in charge that knew how to treat customers and how to manage a service department. I'm sure there are lots of people like me that drop off their RV as an absolute last resort.
We own a Coachmen purchased from another dealer and had a major leak immediately so we took it to Camping World for repairs along with a list of 20 other minor warranty items. Camping World's service rep did a walk through, took notes, & assured us she would see our case through from start to finish. 2 months later we still didn't have our unit & I received no communication- I had to call several times for an update & was told they were waiting on parts. We needed it for a trip so they got 9 items done including the leak repair. We picked it up & Camping World said they would call when the items were in. On the way home the entire front half of the rubber roof peeled back off the unit! We had to duct tape it down, stopping every 1/2 hr to re-tape, in order to get home. We took it back to Camping World & a month later we still didn't have our unit and Camping World said Forest River said the original roof repair as well as this one would not be covered. Camping World also claimed that Forest River sent the wrong parts. I contacted Forest River who told me the date they received the order for parts from Camping World, which was 3 months after I had dropped the unit off! Also they weren't refusing to cover the leak repair, only the 2nd issue of the roof peeling back because they considered that to be Camping World's fault. We talked with Camping World again & funny thing-the parts guy admitted to not ordering the parts until 3 months after we dropped it off! Gave me a story about how swamped he was, as if that was my problem! We had to hire an attorney to get Forest River & Camping World to fix this as well as all our other items & even then it took over a month and constant follow up to get it done. We picked the unit up nearly 5 months after this started & 1/2 the items were not done. However at that point we just wanted to get our unit away from Camping World. We will never deal with Camping World of Charleston again, for any reason.
I had very bad service I know men take advantage of woman buyers but I didn't think a woman would rob another lady they sold me an rv I really don't want told me nothing wrong with it every thing works but the jacks I had the rv only a month and I got a alternator And two new battery I asked to trade for what I really want it I paid twenty two thousand now they talking about ten for it in one month she I look it up and the price we selling to you is a good price one later she said its not worth it I need justice.
I came to CW N. Charleston prepared to buy a new RV. The salesman acted like he couldn't care less if we bought anything. He was rude and disinterested in us and our desire to find something. Do yourself a favor and avoid this location.
A++ experience! Very reasonable with prices and very educated on units. Was on the website and entered in my information and was contacted within a day with everything I needed to know and more. Would recommend for anyone.
