        Our attorneys represent clients in Family Court in Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester, and the surrounding counties in South Carolina. Our legal team will guide you through the process of resolving your problems, while offering you straightforward, reliable and informed representation. While we believe it is necessary to spend money to obtain value, our goal as your attorney is to spend as little of your marital estate as possible to resolve your issues. We try to settle our cases cooperatively, through mediation or by other means. This does not mean we are not "tough" lawyers. It takes a tough and experienced lawyer to resolve cases without litigation. Of course, when litigation is unavoidable, we are prepared to go to Court and try your case. Especially in situations in which custody is an issue, we encourage our clients to resolve their issues as amicably as possible. We believe that our clients' best interests are served when their children's rights and needs are kept in mind. We do not encourage hostility or prolonged litigation, especially when children are involved. Of course, when litigation is unavoidable, we are prepared to go to Court to try your custody case.

        Bluestein & Douglas was formed in 1999 by Natalie Parker Bluestein and Jane Nussbaum Douglas to practice in the area of Family Law.We have a receptionist, Mary Anne Martin, and two paralegals, Dolly Lockwood Lipman and Rustalyn Umphlett. We're located on Carriage Lane in the West Ashley area. Our main office is on the 2nd floor, but we have a conference room on the 1st floor which is handicapped accessible. Our clients are varied. We represent both men and women, wealthy and middle class clients. Our fees are in the mid-range of other Family Court attorneys in the Charleston area. We believe it is important to you, no matter how simple or complex your divorce, separation or custody case is, to have an attorney who is familiar with the judges, mediators, other attorneys, and law in South Carolina.
