Established in 1989, Jeffersonville Country Day School is an independent, privately owned Child Care, Day Care, Preschool, and Kindergarten licensed by the PA Dept. of Human Services and the PA Dept. of Education. The atmosphere at Jeffersonville Country Day School is one of acceptance. Our goal is to nurture the total child by enhancing a positive self-image and encouraging the child’s natural curiosity to learn about the world around them. The school is situated on an acre of maintained lawns and natural wooded areas. Children enjoy the school’s natural surroundings through nature studies and outside play. Our facility offers a clean, warm, home-like environment which is equipped with the most up-to-date and safest toys and learning materials. Three spaciously enclosed play areas with quality designed play equipment, a garden, and individual, as well as, group interaction toys, encourage children’s active play, socialization and large muscle development. By far, the best playground in the area. Our staff consists of a team of trained professional who are carefully screened for their academic merits as well as their patience, love, and understanding of young children. Each staff member is certified in First-Aid and Safety, Infant/Child CPR, and is involved in on-going training in Early Childhood Education. Infant Care: Our infant caregivers are very carefully selected and must meet and maintain the highest professional standards. We will work with you in every aspect to assure the finest care for your child. Our staff has combined experience of over 25 years. With a 3 to 1 child/teacher ratio and a program that follows your baby’s schedule, you will know that your baby is receiving the highest quality care available. Our infant program accommodates ages three months to twelve months. We do have part-time programs of 2 to 4 days, which gives you flexibility in your scheduling. Pre-Toddlers: Our twelve to twenty-four month old program helps young toddlers discover their environment by promoting creativity, sensory exploration, and language development while fostering early emotional and social development. Children begin to learn socialization and vocabulary skills that will enable them to make friends and gain the ability to learn about their environment. This is your child’s first big step into learning and socializing with other children. A small class size allows for individualized attention, which will benefit your child’s development and build their self-esteem. Toddlers, Preschool, and Kindergarten: Jeffersonville Country Day School’s programs promote positive self-esteem and independence in a small class size environment. The school uses the Teaching Strategies GOLD curriculum that ensures that important early learning standards are being met every day, striving to teach children to be creative and confident thinkers. Areas of development and learning are: Social-Emotional, Physical, Language, Cognitive Literacy, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, The Arts, and English Acquisition. Your child will be assessed in these areas from infancy through Kindergarten, allowing you to track how well your child has developed in these areas over the years. The school’s academic programs run from September through June. The Jamboree Summer Camp offers water play, outside adventures, professional entertainment, and good old fun!
