Brookhaven Extensive Care

My parent went to Brookhaven Extensive Care for rehab. The admitting nurse announced that if they had known the patient hadn't had a bowel movement they never would have admitted them. My parent was in severe pain, suffering from dementia, sleep deprivation, diminished appetite, strong medications and home sickness. The first night I was called and told my parent had been left alone in the bathroom and fallen. The physical "terrorists" were even less helpful and simply stated that my parent was being dismissed from treatment.They had no knowledge of the medication being given which would have explained the behaviors they were witnessing. Shortly after this I was called at work and told they were discharing my parent "immediately" and I had to rush to pick them up. I saw the director numerous times and she never acknowledged me, not even a hello. Very understaffed, known as the "cherry picker" facility. Unless your loved one is no trouble don't go here for care!
