Do not live here!!!!! it is totally disgusting. It smells bad, there are no college students even living there. If college students won't live there, why would you live there. The place is infested with ROACHES!!! they are giant and disgusting. and judging from other reviews, this has been going on for the past ten years. Yes this place is cheap and close to campus, but it truly is not worth it. there is a train that runs by every freaking hour and it will wake you up at night. The office people are totally rude and should definitely be ashamed of themselves. The air vent blows nasty air and their ac/heater systems runs on a seasonal time. That means you can't control it even if its hot on a winter day or cold on a rainy day in fall. The place truly is filthy is they do no effort in cleaning up the dead tree leaves or cutting the grass.
I lived here for a ALMOST a year, I couldn't take it anymore. They're cheap, yes, and at first I thought I could handle having only one window, and a tiny kitchen that I couldn't even cook in (I love to cook but never did in this apartment due to the roaches) it would get unbearably hot. You can't even control your own thermostat!! There was also a bed bug infestation while I was living there. Honestly, it's isn't worth living in a filthy, hot box , even as cheap as they are. The management should be ashamed of themselves for even leasing these out to people. I'm pretty sure if there had been a fire in the complex we all would have died unless the fire started in the back of the house cause the ONE window is right next to the front door. More like a death trap. The fact that I ended my lease before it was up, meaning, I'd rather have bad renting credit than stay another night in this place should tell you something. Spend the extra 200 dollars or so and get something you can actually live in.
I am a resident at this complex. Tonight I have no hot water. During the day it heats up to about 80 even in this cooler weather. I have no a/c as you have either heat or cooling at the option of management. To cool it off enough to sleep, I must open windows with no screens. I have roach powder and spray everywhere I don't actually prepare food and still see 5 or 6 a day.
I like to live as cheaply as possible and the rent includes utilities, cable and internet acess BUT sometimes saving money just isn't worth it and this is certainly true of Bishops Landing. If you can't afford anything better consider sleeping in your vehicle till you can. I signed a lease and will probably give up a months rent just to get out.
