Wonderful daycare with creative, caring teachers in a brand-new, beautiful facility. The director is fantastic and the entire staff is extremely well-trained and focused on providing great care and nurturing individual children's capabilities. All the classrooms have curricula and many of the teachers have early childhood certifications or are in school themselves. The kids do lots of art, even the babies! Many of the teachers have been working there for years. I feel great about leaving my child there.
This is overall the worst daycare I have ever experienced. The teachers are very nice and carring to the kids from what I could tell. (They would always hug then when they seen them the next day.) The director is a joke. Multiple times a week I would drop my children off or be picking them up and she would be gossiping about the different "teachers" to the other "teachers." I was late one day (5 mins) and she actually told me that I needed to hurry and get up there, like I should speed or something. My son would come home with snot caked on his face. Not just under his nose, but caked across his forehead and even in his hair. I complained multiple times to no avail. One time I actually witnessed a child escape out the front door and run out the front gate while the owner, the director, and 3 teachers were in the room. They blamed it on another parent, but it was clearly their responsibility to watch. I could go on and on!!
my son was out of traditional daycare for a year and a half before starting here. He has sensory issues and the staff have worked with him and helped him tons and now he does GREAT!!! He loves his teachers and they love him! He cannot wait to go "play" with his friends!! Love this place so glad we found it!!
My toddler was bit more than 10 times in less than 3 months. When I lost count of how many times my child was truly bitten because many of the bites went unreported by the daycare. The director, Stacie W., made a lot of bottomless promises including that she would shadow the class and the biter until the biting was under control (she would be in the classroom for a few MINUTES a day, if at all), and she claimed she called DHS for help with the chronic biting situation, but when I contacted DHS they said they hadn't received ANY communication from her about this problem AT ALL. Initially, I was very understanding and cooperative to work through the biting issue, as I understand it is a developmentally appropriate behavioral issue. But when the bites persisted consistently with absolutely no follow-up or pro-activity by the director Stacie W. I had to remove my child from being harmed any further. The day I pulled my child out of Kidopolis after my child had been bit AGAIN (second time just that week) I was crying when I was talking to Stacie W. because I was so hurt and frustrated that my child keeps getting targeted and subjected to pain and she keeps allowing it to happen. I asked to speak to her boss (a pastor of Heartland church, the daycare is located inside the Heartland church) and Stacie W. left the room to go get the pastor so I could speak to him about the biting issue. When Stacie W. left the room another mother who had seen the commotion came over to me and said "I feel your pain. My child has been here for "such&such" time and when my child was that age they got bit all the time and Stacie W. didn't do sh*t about it. Even now my child will get hurt when the kids are fighting and roughhousing and they don't do anything about it. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER......" I was so upset I never got a chance to thank that mother who came over and told me that and I wish I had. So if your considering Kidopolis, my advice is: RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could give negative stars, I would. They have had a lice problem for almost a month now and they sent my child home 4 times in a week after he got lice. Each time he came back, the center teachers said he was clear and I would get a call later in the day saying to come pick him up. The director was very rude about all of it and she wasn't even at the center any of the times in that 4 week period when I would pick up my child or drop him off. I pulled my child out but they wouldn't even provide a refund, despite him being sent home due to their lice problem in the facility.
