Avoid at any price! When you pay the rent on time, they wait couple of days to send you an email telling you that the payment has failed. They do this on purpose without even attempting to process the payment, just so they can charge you the late payment fee. They do this at least once during the lease year with all the tenants.
I tried to give 0 stars - 1 is too many!!!! These people will mislead a college student into signing a lease... then when given over 7 months notice that a student needs to get out of the lease - they threaten to sue and say that they can't re-let the apartment in time .... REALLY .... 7MONTHS ... how terrible they must be at their job...
Their communication and service is terrible. I have had several issues with their service and have gotten very little help from their company. Management as well was not helpful in the slightest when issues were escalated. Their apartments and location are both great.
First site kept my entire deposit and lease was only for 3 months. So for 3 months they asked me for 500 $. Out of 3 months I was out of country for 2 months. I explained them everything but seems they don't have hearts. They sent me bunch of old screenshots and told me we charged for them. PLEASE DO NOT RENT FIRST SITE EVER IN YOUR LIFE......!!
DO NOT RENT WITH FIRST SITE!!! A life time of worst experience!!!!They are the most friendly staff only till you rent with them. By the time you plan to move out, make sure you have saved enough money to pay their extra heavy fines. They will just entice you with a bit lower rates. After you move out, you will realise that you have paid atleast a 100 bucks more per month on an average, apart from your security deposit. They charge you for all the mess made by you and not made by you. They charge you for every bit of dust they see with the help of their torch light during your move out inspection. Their inspection rules are so tactically framed that you cannot escape fines. No matter how much thoroughly you clean, their inspection staff have xray eyes to trace out invisible dots and bits of dust. I was personally present during the move out inspection and was so shocked to see how thoroughly they examine the whole apartment. I had this worst experience with them twice and finally decided to post this. I heard the same kind of bad experience with my friends who rented with them.
They should have a ZERO stars button. My experience mirrors the experience of most people on here, but primarily it's about keeping the security deposit. They seem to make most of their revenue from scamming deposits out of people. Being a landlord myself, nobody ever leaves the apartment in move in condition for the next guy. A cost of doing business is having the place cleaned. Even if you clean it thoroughly, they will still charge you for cleaning it. They know you probably won't bother going to court to get your deposit back, so they've got you by the balls and they know it. Do yourself a favor....DO NOT RENT FROM FIRST SITE. You will save yourself lots of headaches in the future.
LEASE ISSUES1) I am paying for 10 full months worth of rent to live here. I am only allowed to live here 8 months and 3 weeks. They have you start paying two months before your move in date and you can stop paying rent before your move out month. I’m sure YA has an official reason for this, but it seems like it’s also utilized to sweep under the rug the fact that they’re running away with your money. Because unless you “pay as you go” you would never realize you’re paying for more than you’re residing there. 2) Move out day is May 7. May 7 is the day I am walking at ISU graduation. It is the day after finals are over. ALSO you have to pay for the entire month of May even though you can only live there for a week. 3) Utilities. They say utilities are included but that there’s a cap and any overages are your responsibility. They give you a tiny allowance knowing full well you WILL go over it. Utilities are not included. Utilities are helped out with.
The customer service was terrible they were very rude and unprofessional.Upkeep on apartment are filthy upon moving in my apartment was filthy and also to many issues with bugs in the apartment .There problems regarding the billing and charges and also the disputes men of funds. All sprung terrible experience apartments are not worth the price and customer service is very awful.
Zero stars would be best. If you're a decent person and a bunch of drug-pushers with dogs barking in non-animal allowed apartments night after night, loud partying every night live next-door to you don't worry SAMI won't do anything. You'll be the sorry person because as long as the scumbags pay rent SAMI will do nothing no matter how many incident reports you fill out! All they want is the money and they don't give a damn about you having a safe, quiet place to stay. Bad for the university!
If I could rate 0 stars I would. First off let's start with the fact I've been leasing from them for over a year. Got transferred to a bigger 2 bedroom with nicer amenities thinking that I'll stay here for a while. It's been nothing but problems. Took me a week to get a new fridge after I moved in and mine was broken. Also I have a broken window frame that they still have not fixed a month into living here. My washer went out after doing 4 loads of laundry and I've been waiting about a week for that to get replaced only to also find out now that 2 of the 4 stove burners are out as well. So we will have to see how quick they get that fixed. So far with this experience I am to the point I will never rent from first site again. And I cannot wait til this currents lease is up and I can find a more reputable agency to rent from.
