In February I subscribed to the paper and I will billed twice. it took me many phone calls and two months to get a refund on the overcharge. I told them I did not want to renew my subscription.... well they stopped my paper when I received my overcharge refund not after the 13 weeks I had paid for so now on 05/13 they have billed my account to renew my subscription.... Really???? what does a person have to do...... Now lets see how long it takes me to get this fixed. I say do not subscribe because it will be a nightmare and headache!!!!!
During the decline of newspapers is apparent, you would think that they would try to win back customers with good/great customer service. Apparently, that is not the case.I choice to restart my Wed/Sun delivery over a week ago. After waiting on the line for 15 minutes, I got a customer service rep on the line and shared I wanted to restart my service. They quoted me a much higher price than what was on the bill (which was only $20/yr.). When I explained that to them, they said they can't offer that anymore. I asked that they have my local carrier supervisor contact me because she can guarantee me the $20/yr. I never received the call.Yet, when I looked at the bill closer, hidden in a tiny was the online bill pay service for paying my bill. After taking time to set up my billing profile, it took me to my subscription price, which was $20/yr. That was over a week ago that I was billed the $20 on my CC. I haven't received a paper since. I didn't receive my Sunday paper today when I woke up at 11:20 a.m. I immediately tried to call the Virginian Pilot and guest what? Their customer service hours only go to 10 a.m. Urghhhhhhhhhhhh! Here's a thought. Probably their billing system, which is probably operated by an outside vendor, doesn't directly communicate with the Virginian Pilot system. That's is probably why I am getting a delay in starting my subscriptions.I only want the paper because my wife wants to read it and for the coupons. I have to leave a star because there is no option for 0 when rating.
Their editorial writers need to do more research and back up their claims with facts.
I believe Denis Finley, editor of your newspaper did an INJUSTICE for not supporting a reporter from your newspaper who WAS beaten by a MOB, after I viewed a headline story on O'Reilly Thursday1/24/13. Your paper also initially refused to supply 911 tapes to FOX. Also only one of the five assailants was convicted and received only a suspended sentence. Based on this information, I would NOT recommend anyone read your newspaper, nor I believe Norfolk is a dangerous place to visit, and would recommend that everyone should BOYCOTT any visits to Norfolk, VA. I am taking a photo of my posting. If this does not get posted, i will send this email to FOX
