I have been a member for almost 5 years and have always been greeted with a smile. This not for profit organization in one of the best in this area as well as being one of the first (almost 40 years service to the community) in the area. They offer many programs and events the least of which is a warm greeting and a helpful hand. They have their own Ceramics Studio where they have open studio to instructional classes and have their own kilns on the premises. They also have a Woodcrafters Studio with instruction and assistance to make project from a picture frame to intricate wood turnings. An Art Studio with instructional classes. Their programs include Social, health and educaitonal criteria. Some of their programs are Exercise, Jazzercise, Ballroom Dance, Yoga, Massage, Tai Chi, Quilting, Sign Language and Lipreading, Craft Club, Investment Clubs, Genealogy, Bingo, Bridge games and lessons, Mah Jongg, Canasta, Scrabble, Singing groups and lessons, Piano Lessons and play time, Computer Classes - Basic to Diital Camera and Internet, Lamp and small Appliance repair, a lunch program, Shopping and Fun Trips along with many other programs. They have a Gift and Thrift Shop where members sell handmade goods. This give them (the members) an outlet for their talents and an income that helps both them and organization who in turn gives back to the community. Since I'm writing this in the fall I need to add that they have 2 Flea Markets; 1 in the fall and the other in the spring along with a Holiday Faire in November. Well I need to end this and get back to my ceramics but just wanted to add the I love yelling Bingo and even when I don't I leave with a smile, which is as we all know contagious and spreads rapidly.
