If you are considering using Exit Central Reality as a property management company either as renter or home owner...think again. The scam is to withhold as much of the security as possible even using unscrupulous excuses. As a renter, I took pride in turning over a home at the same or near the same condition as I received it. Exit Reality, specifically Nancy Myers the agent, decided to charge $165 to "clean up" approximately 10 square feet of the patio garden bed, a 20 minute job in the worst case scenario. She also charge to clean an oven that was immediately replaced by the new tenants. She charged to repair the microwave fan shroud which I had told her was broke 2 years prior. I was the renter in this house for 3 years and looked on the home as if it were my own home. Unbelievable! I have heard that this is a common scam among property management companies in this area, but I was wrongfully assumed that Exit Realty, and Nancy Myers were above board. My advice, before handing over the security deposit to your property management company, get in writing exactly every item that can be charged again you.
Thank you Ms. Lisa Short ( I hope I spelled your name correctly), for giving me the help that I needed. Thanks also to the operator who answered my calls all the time.
The man called Ben, the realtor, is stingy and never responsible for his properties as long as he knows you are renting his properties. Do not let him pull your leg. You will never have your deposit back for good; .!!!!
The houses are nice, but the service is horrible. Get everything in writing and take pictures before you sign anything. Steve at the Hampton Blvd office in particular will say anything to get a body in a building. After that I have encountered lying and neglect, especially if you rent from them.Great building, horrible people to deal with in the office.
They are fairly quick to respond to problems. I had issues will my bill pay service and Altschul Realty responded by sending an eviction notice rather than calling me to resolve the problem. I have rented from them for 25 years! When I responded to the eviction notice and explained the problem their response was to threaten me to add more onto the late fee if I did not pay them right away. I asked for their hours and location, went to their office during those hours and the door was locked. I later called and told them that the sign on their door listed several businesses and I did not feel comfortable dropping my check with SSN on it into a mail slot which is accessible by many people. I paid my rent and the late fee and the next month they raised my rent.
