        We are a third generation family store and have been in business since 1919. As you can see in the news article to the right, Isaac Waxberg (the current owner's grandfather) had his roots as cobbler in Germany before moving to Chicago and opening what has now become Waxberg's Walk Shoppe. We are offering a lot of brand of shoes for men and women. We are almost unique in Chicagoland in the services we offer. Our salespeople spend one-on-one time with you for as long as you need to find what you need to be comfortable, because you spend a lot of your life on your feet.         Overall

        Sales people are not interested in your comfort, and are fueled by making a sale. I had to return my shoes several times. I would never return to them.

        DO NOT USE IF NEED SPECIAL SHOES/ORTHOTIC. Had to have special shoe made with metal rod inserted. George told me that I could choose many different shoes and he could still put it in the bottom and then reglue the sole. He never once told me "they do not know if it will work until they cut the sole of the shoe". When they did it and I received my shoes back that were supposed to have the same sole glued back on...I was trapped!
        He had put an inferior black rubber boot sole on my shoes with ragged edges so the shoe looked messy and old and the bottom is like a board-not like the cushy bottom of a gym shoe made well that was supposed to go back on the shoe.
        He said he could not do anything for me, but ..YES! He could have called me when he found out and let me know...and he could have warned me before he began.
        Do not trust them with your doctor's prescription!

        Way overpriced shoes.... a RIP OFF. Horrible RUDE customer service, long wait, EXTREMELY RUDE service rep named Marty. Don't go here !! I will never return to this awful place.
