Dowlen Family Dentistry

My mouth hurts worse now than before I went there and dentist was very rough. Needless to say I'm very scared to go back there. My mouth is killing me worse than before. I'm in so much pain its waking me up in the middle of night and throughout the day. Thought it would be better after time has passed but its not. Its worse than before I went there. To be honest its prob infected now..And I've been in excruciating pain.

I made an appointment at this office two weeks ago for today at 8:30am. I arrived at 8:25am only to see that the doors were locked and all the lights were off. I called the office and got an answering machine that said the office didn't open until 9am on Fridays. Why would they schedule me an appointment for 8:30am if they don't open until 9am I wondered out loud. I went to grab some breakfast thinking they had made a mistake, and began calling them. No answer. I came back at 9am and waited at the desk for over 15 minutes before I even saw anyone working there! Finally a woman came to me at the desk and asked my name. I informed her what had happened and instead of trying to help me she was completely unsympathetic and rude beyond belief. She informed me that she had been there since 8am and that they don't unlock the doors until exactly 8:30am. When I asked why the answering machine says they don't open until 9am she had no answers for me. She also couldn't explain why she didn't answer my 9+ calls if she had actually been there at 8am. Then informed me that now their were two patients in front of me, and I could wait there until 11am, or that I needed to reschedule for two weeks from now. Needless to say, I will NOT be scheduling ANY appointments here, and I suggest you do the same. Going to the dentist is unpleasant enough without a disorganized and rude staff.

This practice is very disorganized, under-staffed and the receptionist I spoke with was very rude and spoke to me as if I knew nothing.

My fiance made an appointment at Dowlen because someone recommended this dentistry to us. We had to wait 2 weeks to get in. The day before the appointment, we received a call reminding us of the appointment the next day at 8:30 AM.

The day of the appointment, we arrived at 8:25 AM, only to find the doors locked and all the lights off inside. My fiance called the office, and we heard the phone ringing inside. The answering machine told us that the office doesn't actually open until 9:00 AM.

Already frustrated, we decided to go get some breakfast and come back at 9. When we arrived at 9, we waited for 15 minutes at the front desk for someone to come see us.

Finally, a woman came out, so we informed her of what had happened to us. Her only response was, "Well I've been here since 8:00 this morning. Another patient got here at 8:30 and he's in the back now."

I told her, "You may have been here, but when we got here at 8:25, the lights were off and the doors were locked." She didn't have anything to say about that. She was extremely unsympathetic and actually started getting sassy with me after I told her what had happened.

She said the best she could do was schedule us an appointment 2 weeks from now, after we already waited 2 weeks for this appointment!

Frustrated and outright shocked at the lack of respect/sympathy, we declined and decided to make an appointment somewhere else. I recommend anyone to steer clear of this place.

I have never been to a more unfriendly office in my entire life. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Doctor Dowlen isn't even there anymore, and it would seem the professionalism left with him. The receptionist was rude, and the wait times were ridiculous. I waited so long I walked out and made an appointment somewhere else.

Dr. Dowlen has always treated me well and been good about answering my questions. I had a lot of work to be done and his office staff was good about getting me in and out on time and they're really nice there.

I will never go to another dentist, Dr Dowlen makes you feel so comfortable and jokes with you. The rest of his staff are very nice as well.
