Overall

My both dogs (papallion and Boston terrier) were very well treated the many times they stayed here during our cruises. Recently, I felt reluctant to leave them for nine days but they were perfectly fine when we picked them up. Was sorry to hear about some of the negative experiences, and felt compelled to share my positive ones. One telling point is that my dogs have been going to the Family Pet Resort since they opened, and don't seem to react at all negatively when we leave them. The staff is very compassionate and understanding that dogs are truly a member of the family. The boarding rooms are infinitely better than the "cages" found at some vets, and the fact that there is a vet nearby is also reassuring. They have all kinds of extra services which may or may not be necessary but at least I can say that my pets seemed to have a great experience there and never encountered any problems!

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS H...

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE

We boarded our 2 maltese puppies here while we went on a 7 day vacation. During my vacation I got a text to call the resort asap. My 11 month 4 pound maltese was seriusly injured and fighting for her life. I was told she passed out and fell off an emplyees lap 3 inches to the ground. She was rushed to univ of penn where she was put on a breathing machine to keep her alive. She had no movement in her legs at all. There was massive swelling in her spinal cord and brain stem area of her neck. NO WAY did this poor pup fall just 3 inches!! Something just doesn't add up here. She was at Penn for over a week. They saved her life and 4 weeks later she is starting to get movement back in her legs. Its a miracle this little puppy has surived this trauma. I came home to vet bills in the 5 figures. I spoke with the manager about taking care of these huge vet bills since this trauma occured on there watch. I have heard nothing back from the manager or the owners . To this day I still have no idea what happened to little Lexi. They forbid to tell me the truth and take responsibility for what happened. I would hate to see another family go through a similar situation like we have. The family pet resorts owners and managers are heartless and obviously could careless about there customers and the pets. What makes me more sick is that we have been a great paying customer since they opened in Newtown Square. It is obvious that there hiring people that are not fit to be with animals. Poor Lexi could have been abused as far as we know. It would be nice to know the truth about what caused Lexi's trauma. Please do yourself a big favor and keep your pets AWAY from the family pet resort. Its been a huge nightmare for my family. Also, please SPREAD the word around about this story. Everyone should be aware. If anything new comes out of this story regarding the heartless management of the family pet resort I will let you all

Take your beloved pets elsewhe...

Take your beloved pets elsewhere! Please do your research and you will find countless NEGATIVE reviews of the Family Pet Resort. Their Philadelphia location has been shut down - no doubt because they LOST A DOG...and the poor dog was never found much less returned to its heartbroken owner. They do not and will not care for your animals - it's ALL about the money. You will pay an astronomical amount of money for ridiculously poor service. There are PLENTY of reputable dog kennels out there....ones that have been around for many years because they know how to treat people and pets right! Do your research - read the reviews online!

Also - don't be fooled by employees posting fake customer reviews. Want Examples?....one of the OWNERS is "Sundance1964" and you will see his fake customer reviews everywhere just to try & get the negative ratings up....also on the Family Pet Resort site "SJKush" is an employee of the resort - her name is Sandra. Again FAKE customer reviews from management.

A Great Place to Take Your Pets!

From the friendliness of the staff to the cleanliness of the facility, The Family Pet Resort is the only place I take my three maltese!! TJ, Max, and Bradley love getting pampered at the salon, Diane is awesome! Also, Wellington Vet Hospital, attached to resort, have a wonderful fully staffed facility that are always there when you need them especially since they just went 24 Hours!

A definite 5 Stars!!

No Follow Through

I would not recommend this business (either location) to anyone who appreciates good service on all levels!

My canine was cut severly in several areas (ok mistakes happen) - I informed them of it...apology two weeks later. Veterinary reimbursement requested, which I was informed I would receive promptly; took well over a month (several calls had to be made).

The experience could have been better if there were better business practices...simple follow through is all.

*I wouldn't even consider it on the scale.*

The facility itself is beautiful, but the dogs looked very unhappy and stressed. I saw a lot of the employees sitting around and chatting, makes me think if anybody was looking after the dogs. With some work with the employees I think it may be a great place.

LOVED IT

My husband and I went to the pet expo a few weeks ago and the lady at the booth was so nice and friendly I wanted to puke. When I went to redeem my prize from the expo everyone was just like her .... so friendly so courteous and so crazy in love with animals. We are going on vacation in a few weeks and I know my baby will love her luxury suite with a Flat screen TV...., seriously they have flat screen TVs....Crazy I know...... but only the best for my Daisy ( :

If you get a chance...take the tour........ you'll see for yourself!

Overall
not somewhere i would take my little loved ones

great concept, poor execution. i went to this buisness to consider boarding my 3 dogs and was taken for a tour. the "tour guide" had very little knowledge of caring for a dog and this worried me. they could not provide me with any pricing and i just had an uncomfortable feeling like i was being "taken" by a sale person. some of the features that made this resort unique (web cams, cat boarding, dog training) were not even available several weeks after the opening. Even though i had a bad experience i still brought one of my pets in for a daycare trial. i walked back to the daycare area to hear employees yelling and cursing at dogs and see urine and feces all over their play area while three dogs were locked in cages. overall very diappointing.
