In 2014 Certified Water Services installed an entire water treatment system in our home. After one year, they called for a ($400) maintenance. Immediately after, we experienced a remarkable drop in the water pressure, and, we thought the problem might be the well. The well company service man proved that the problem was the water treatment system- specifically the neutralizer tank, which he said required a backwash filter. When he bypassed the neutralizer, the pressure was fine.
Several well experts since advised us to ADD A BACKWASH FILTER to the neutralizer unit. They said to immediately contact Certified Water, to clean out the entire neutralizer unit, and re fill it with new chemical. With a backwash filter on the cylinder, the problem shouldn't recur.
Certified Water replaced the entire neutralizer cylinder with clean chemical. But instead of adding the backwash filter, they insisted we didn’t need one, and said we had to call every year for their service, or the system would always have the problem. They also wanted to add a "post" neutralizer unit to the system to improve the situation.
Recent experience with another well company has proven that Certified Water had installed an inadequate system and refused to correct their error, and instead insisted we needed something that we didn't need.
They were unprofessional and defensive with us, and it was an overall unpleasant experience. I would never recommend them.
Only do business with this company if you are positive nothing will ever break.
We had a new water softener installed by Certified Water Services. I dealt with the owner and all was great on the front end. The installation went smoothly. The water felt great. It really made a difference to my wife and daughter both who suffer with psoriasis. They even through in a reverse osmosis water purifier. I had the peace of mind knowing I was dealing with a local family owned business.
Fast forward six months, the plumbing line (which they installed) for the reverse osmosis system began leaking one day while we were out. We came home to a ruined sheetrock basement ceiling. I called Certified Water Services and spoke with the owner’s son. He scheduled a visit to come and look at the softener. In the interim, I called our insurance company who granted us a claim (minus a $500 deductible) to have the ceiling repaired. While they inspected the damage, the insurance company noticed what they called “a bad plumbing job” and informed me that they were going to go after Certified Water Services insurance company for the deductible. The owner’s son came out a few days later and fixed the leak. He also explained to me that we must have done something to jar the line loose. I realized at that point that Certified Water Systems was not going to take any responsibility for what happened.
Problem solved. All good, until that is it happened again 4 months later and my ceiling was ruined a second time. I fixed that on my own and had the water purifier removed. After all, it’s the water softener I wanted.
Now, the softener isn’t softening any longer. I called and spoke to Patrick and he scheduled an appointment to service it. No one showed up. I called again and scheduled another appointment. No show again. Finally I called back today and was told that we should find another company to service our equipment because their insurance company advised them not to service our water softener.
Good luck out there to anyone who has to deal with the local family owned business.
Greg, here is the timeline of what happened: 04/03/2012- CWS installed a water conditioner in basement and a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink. Both systems were installed in accordance with the manufacture’s recommendations, local plumbing codes, and were up and running properly at the time of completion. 06/27/2012- CWS received a phone from Mr. Lazzaro stating that the reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink was "leaking." Victor, the owner of CWS, went to the Lazzaro residence at 1:30 pm to correct the problem. He found that the leak was caused by the drain saddle clamp becoming misaligned on the main sink drain pipe. This can only happen if the drain saddle clamp is jarred, bumped, or knocked loose. Like dropping your phone, the drain saddle clamp, if subjected to impact will sometimes loose functionality. Victor explained this to Mrs. Lazzaro, fixed the clamp, then made sure the reverse osmosis system was online and working properly. Victor checked and did not observe any water damage under the kitchen sink, and was not informed of any damage in the basement. Mrs. Lazzaro was not charged for this service call. 10/24/2012- CWS received a letter from the law firm representing the Lazzaro. The firm was seeking compensation for water damage caused by CWS. Victor informed the firm that he had no idea what they were talking about, and should contact our insurance company. Our insurance company investigated the matter and concluded that it was not the systems that were installed by CWS that caused the damage. Subsequently, our insurance company denied the claim and deems it unsubstantiated. It should also be noted that: - CWS has never had a claim filed against us. - Greg called us on 05/18/2013 and left a voice mail asking us to do a check up on his water softener. - Upon advisement from our insurance company and legal counsel, CWS was advised not to perform any future service at the Lazzaro residence. We informed Greg Lazzaro that we were, unfortunately, not able to continue to do business. - CWS is not sure about the "F" rating on price, it is on par with the other "A" ratings of price on Angie's List. Additionally, nobody forced them to do the work we proposed to them. - CWS has hundreds of happy and satisfied customers, and plenty of positive reviews all over the internet. We strive to meet and exceed our customers' expectation on a continuing basis.

After doing some research on how to make my home more efficient, I decided to get a water softener. I called 4 different companies for information and prices, and Certified Water Services seemed to be the most skilled and offered a reasonable price. They installed the softener 4 days later and I have already noticed a difference when I take a shower. All in all I would most definitely recommend.
I read my water quality report and found out I have radium in my water. I have a 8 year old son, so wanted to get a reverse osmosis filter installed in our house. My brother had Certified Water Services install a filter in his house 5 years ago and is really happy, so I looked them up.
Certified Water Services has great knowledge, products, and service. And they guarantee their installation. I am impressed and will recommend my friends and family to them. Also, my water doesn't taste like pool water any more.
I had a reverse osmosis unit installed in my kitchen and it really does make a noticeable difference in the way my coffee tastes.
I give it 5 stars because I made the order, it was installed a week later, and Certified Water Services will call me when the filters need changed. I like things that are easy and worry free because I am busy and don't need to worry about anything extra.
My wife and I recently had a water softener and reverse osmosis unit installed in our house and we can't believe the difference it makes. My wife loves it because it makes her hair and skin much softer. Our tea and coffee taste so much better that we can't even believe how we used to drink it when it was made from tap water. The sales professional was honest and had an independent lab test our water, and explained the purification methods logically. Believe me, I did a lot of research on water treatment before I bought my treatment system, and I am very happy with my purchase.
