Just a complete disappointment as an online auctioneer. I registered to bid in one of their recent online auctions (Calendar Press) and was accepted to bid and given a bidder number. One day before the online auction closed, I placed bids on a lot of equipment in that sale. The day of the auction closing about 30 minutes before the close of that lot, I received an 'outbid' notice from their website about my bid. So I went back to their site to raise my bid. For unknown reasons, my bids were now being refused with a note to contact the auction administrator. I did so, with only minutes before the lot would close. I had the misfortune of speaking with a gentleman who not only refused to reinstate my ability to bid, but attempted to blame me for not getting 'vetted' by him first. I had no idea any 'vetting' was necessary, and yet the site had accepted my registration and prior bids the day before! How was I to know some sort of additional vetting was needed when I only found out 30 minutes prior to the auction end that I was removed as a bidder? I asked if I could provide him with credit card information so he would know I was a legitimate bidder. He said no. I asked if he could reinstate me so I could bid, and then 'vet' what ever after the auction. He said no. The gentleman, whose name I regrettably did not get, was abrasive, argumentative, and hung up the phone in my ear after saying that he needed to monitor the auction for his 'customers'. And I thought I was a customer...Well, that is one thing he is right about - I'm surely not a customer now. Joseph Finn's tagline is "Fostering client loyalty is at the core of our Organization"? It is pretty much the opposite of that in my experience.
