Bought a car from them many moons ago, they refused to hand off the title once it was paid off. They lost my business and respect for life. But they're really chummy with people that help them rip other people off. DONT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!

Terrible!!! Left my daughter on the interstate for hours!!! Spoke in Spanish when they thought I was on hold or couldn't hear. I do speak Spanish and I could hear. How dare you!!! Completely unprofessional!!! Never use this company....ever!!!
Really fast, supper nice!! and very professional!! I was stuck on the High way on 64 heading to Va Beach Va. With a flat tire i was before the bridge, they were their in 30 min and had me all set and ready to go in no time.
Leave us Hampton students alone!!! We're broke and I'm actually on the verge of being homeless. When you tow my car that's rent money. So stop
One of the guys working there "tried to make it up" to my gf when she went to pick up her towed car by taking her out. After she politely declined she got a text on the cell number she had to provide in order to pick up the car with another guy there asking her out. Totally unprofessional!
I waited for over four hours for the tow truck to pickup my vehicle. The woman in the dispatch office lied to me about when the tow truck would be arriving and if the tow truck driver was in possession of my car. Then to top it all off the two truck driver stripped the gear shaft assembly and now my keys are stuck in the ignition and I am arguing with the insurance company to fix something that was the result of the incompetence of the tow truck driver! WARNING: IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND POSSESSIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR CAR ON ANY OCCASION.
I had a pretty bad experience with them. I needed an assistance to tow my car to a mechanic shop. GEICO made arrangements for them to come tow my car, and their time estimate was 45 minutes. They have not showed for 90 minutes, and I had to leave my car for lunch. During that time period the truck arrived, called my cell phone and left me a voice message. When I got back to my car the driver was still there, and rudely told me that the order has been canceled and left. I had to get another tow truck. My advice to everyone would definitely be NOT TO USE THEIR SERVICE!
I am a military spouse and proudly portray this information on my vehicle through decals. This towing company targeted my vehicle specifically. I had just dropped my elderly grandmother off to her home and went upstairs to drop off her luggage. She lives in a town home and owns two parking spaces . I parked perpendicular to her vehicles I.e right behind her vehicles to avoid parking in her neighbors park. I did not park on a yellow curb or block anyone's access to or from the property besides my grandmothers. There are no signs on this street saying no street parking besides ones indicating not to park on a yellow curb. The tow truck owner preyed on my vehicle and other vehicles in that area. He spotted my decals and emblems toting I was a proud military wife and saw instant dollars this company acted predatory in nature and further more had no authorization to even tow my vehicle as it was not parked illegally. I wanted to call the police however the row owner stated he would not wait for authorities and leave meaning I would have to pay more back at the head quaters to release my car. They purposefully entice you with low fees of 25.00 to unhook the vehicle in an attempt to keep you quiet and to just move on and not press the issue. My grandmother has lived in these town homes for 20+ years and we have never been treated in such a foul manner this company is scum and preys on service members and their families
So my daughter had her car towed by Thorntons. Thorntons was called in to tow it, which they did and that is fine as they performed the service they were asked to. The fee for towing was $120 and $28 for the days it took us to get the car. That seems like a fair price. So based on all that I wouldn’t even bother putting out a post. Where I do have a problem with Thorntons is their customer service. Very rude and gruff and are VERY reluctant to give me the name of who I am talking to. Thorntons also requires the registered owner to pick up the car, which is their rule and not a requirement by law. So my daughter, who has the same last name as I do and is the only one in the area, who has the keys and whose purse with all her documentation was actually in the car, couldn’t get it. Instead I had to get a sign notarized and MAILED, with a copy of my ID to them to release the car. I can understand the need to reasonably assure that cars are given back to the correct person, but that process was just silly in this case as common sense should have ruled as it does with most businesses. Also, the fact that all the power is in someones hands on if you get property back doesnt not give them the right to be rude about it and make it as if you are imposing on them to get you vehicle.
