Upon walking into the establishment, I said hello to the staff and I received a stare with no response (in my head, that was a Strike #1). I had asked the first lady I saw the cost of my pedicure and she pointed to another lady, who I assumed was the manager (who's name is Sharon). Sharon was working on someone's eyelashes (or eyebrows), in a side room and I didn't want to interrupt her. However, since the lady pointed to her and the door was open, I politely and quietly said, "excuse me...", and before I could even ask the question about the cost, Sharon abruptly snapped at me (unprofessionally) and said, "$35. Pick a color!" (Strike #2). Going back to the first lady who ended up doing my pedicure: I had asked her where should I put the nailpolish and she told me to put it anywhere. So, I put it on the table. Then, she (and her entire family) began eating a cinnamon bun. I felt like I had to let her know that I was on my lunch break and that I didn't have enough time. It was obvious to me that if I didn't say anything, she would have continued eating her cinnamon bun and had me wait. As she started doing my pedicure, I tried to strike up a conversation with her, by asking her how was her day going, and she gave me an unfriendly, "I'm fine", response. I quickly realized that she was not interested in talking to me, the customer (Strike #3). She was more interested in continuing her conversation with Sharon and everyone else who worked in the salon. I'm not sure if she was angry at me for not giving her the opportunity to finish eating her cinnamon bun but, that was unprofessional. In the end, When it was time to pay at the counter, she turned the tablet to me and rudely said, "leave a tip if you want" and walked away (Strike #4). In sum, I left a good tip because, she did do an awesome job! However, due to poor customer service and an unsanitary environment, I will not return. There were too many strikes for me!
Friday I made an appt for 12:30 on Saturday for two manicures & pedicures for my granddauhter and myself. When we arrived the girl who was working on another lady’s nails greeted us & told us to pick a nail polish. They have four pedicure chairs which were all torn & the salon was dirty, and had a very limited & unorganized choice of nail polish. We went ahead and made our choice of color. We then sat quietly for our appointment. There were 3 or 4 ladies doing manicures and 1 doing pedicures. At 1:03 pm the lady doing the pedicures told me I could have a seat in the pedicure chair. When I told her there were two of us she turned back around and continued to work on the lady in the chair feet. Then she sharply turned around & snapped at me a few seconds later “do you have an appointment?” I told her yes & she did not even respond. But turned back around and continued to work on the other customer’s feet. A customer getting her nails done looked at me with pity and smiled kindly. We sat there for about 4 mins and when the lady continued to ignore us, I got up and put our nail colors back. I told her “Ma’am if you do not want our business we will leave” in a calm voice. She snapped at me again, “I did not say that, I asked you if you had an appointment to which I responded, “Yes, and that appointment was over ½ hour ago.” She rudely told me to do whatever I wanted. I asked her name and she hesitated and then snapped again, “Sharon’. As I was leaving the customer the chair found it humorous and I could see her laughing with Sharon. I would avoid this salon. There is no Plus in Skye Nails Plus.
THIS BUSINESS IS SUPPORTED BY 95% AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN . SISTERS WE ARE BEING RIDICULE & DEGRADED AS WE PAY FOR A SERVICE . THE SHOP IS OWNED BY KOREANS WHOM ARE RUDE, INEXPERIENCE & VERY UNPROFESSIONAL . NOT TO MENTION TERRIBLE SERVICE THE POLISH IS WATERED DOWN W/ALCOHOL SO THERFORE IT DOESNT LAST BUT A DAY. THEY USE THE SAME WAX STICK ALL DAY FOR EACH PERSON EYEBROWS. ONLY ONE NAIL TECH THAT CAN ACTUALLY DO NAILS . THAT MAKES HER DO A POOR JOB BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE IS WAITING TO SIT IN HER CHAIR. AS SHE BECOME OVERWHELMED SHE BEGINS TO PUT DOWN THE CUSTOMERS IN HER LANGUAGE. LADIES WE CAN DO BETTER . WE DESERVE BETTER. WHEN YOUR ARE PAYING CUSTOMERS. STOP BEING TAKING ADVANTAGE OF . WE DESERVE TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE TECH OUT OF 6 THAT CAN DO NAILS. KEEP IN MIND THERE IS NO BUSINESS WITHOUT THE CUSTOMER.
Worst place to go to. I will never go again. They act like it's not there job to fix your nails if there's a problem. They have horrible customer service and over charge for there work when it looks cheap.
I just got off the highway from DC, just to walked into this unprofessional place. I walked right back out....never returning there.
I was always extremely satisfied with the work Nancy did on my nails, but I understand she is no longer there.
DO NOT get Gel Polish from this establishment. The service was okay even though there are not many nail professionals working. I got a pedicure and a manicure. I asked for gel polish with the new chrome powder. I was told they had to use a black gel polish so the chrome will show up. The next day the powder was chipping off. I returned two days later. They re-did the powder. It has been less than a week and the clear top coat is peeling and the gold is chipping. The chrome didn't even look like chrome it's just glitter polish. The toenail polish is chipping as well. They do not have a good brand of gel polish or the nail techs do not know what they are doing. I am highly disappointed in this experience. I also called to see if they would fix it and now they are saying they already did it. Which is true, but gel polish is not supposed to last less than a week. I could have gotten regular polish and saved my money.
Very overpriced. Service was ok, but if I'm paying the amount I did, it should be excellent!!!! Will never return!!!!
Wrote a review on their FB page last week. Instead of making it right, they either "hid" it or deleted it."Came here yesterday with my gf bc they just opened up about a month ago. I don't care if the workers talk in their own language that I can't understand but at least pay attention when you have sharp tools in your hands. She took a chunk of meat from my pinky toe. I paid them bc they ask for me to pay for the services and I tipped them bc I know how it's like to be in the service industry. The very next day, I'm limping at work so I came back for a refund. They gave me a hard time about it and created a scene. Advice to people, when the bleeding doesn't stop, it's an issue."You can also check out the full review on Yelp and it's pictures. Just be careful of this place.
What a great experience. My sister & I both got excellent pedicures today. Candy even made my slanted toenails look straighter... The ceilings were high & there were no fumes.... Yes you read that right. It did not smell like chemicals. Oh & there were two beautiful lights hanging from those high ceilings. The prices were good and we will be back.....
