I look forward to paying Newport Landing a visit next winter when migration is in full swing once again. There is plenty of dining, drinking and family fun in the area making this a great place to spend any afternoon in southern CA.
Excellent viewing of the whales & informative! I love blue whales!! Thank you
Cocoa with whiskey and whales at sea. Awesome
The whale watching tour was a great time!!
My Family had visited from Utah and wanted to get out to sea and watch some whales. i found this company for $16 each person was a great deal for about 2 maybe three hours. The drinks were super cheap, and it was very enjoyable! The announcer was very knowledgable, and was so professional and actually had fun along with us. It is a MUST Do while your here. Only complaint I had was PARKING there was no spots.
The tour was two and half hours long and simply the best. The Captain kept us informed of our surroundings and his movie LOL We saw dolphins, baby dolphins and whales.I would definitely recommend this boating company and we will be adveturing out again with them on our next trip out to California!!!
They were so informative and helpful. It was so awesome to see the whales and dolphins! My kids will remeber this forever!
Me and my son enjoyed this very much. He said that it was the best ride he had ever been on in his life.
The deck hands were very courteous and friendly. The captain provided a wealth of knowledge about the whales and dolphins. I can hardly wait to watch the dvd!
Well, we did see whales--gray whales to be exact. :) Our tour spent about an hour, or a little more, viewing at least 3 gray whales (maybe there were 5) coming up for air and flapping their flukes--no fluke! (I couldn't resist!) Several times we were able to view their barnacle-encrusted backs as they swam along the surface. This was so amazing, especially for my friend who for the first time got to see whales in real life! We had such a wonderful experience!
The trip lasted for 2.5 hours. We were never bored on board. Ha! The ride was relatively smooth, not overly crowded (it was mid-morning on a Friday), and the captain of the boat was quite knowledgeable.
My friends and I had a lot of fun yesterday on our half day trip. It was gloomy and a bit cold, but it was way more fun than I had originally expected. Anyway, we caught a ton of sculpin and sand dabs, as well as a lizard fish that we released back into the water because who wants to eat a lizard fish anyhow? We also saw a blue whale (well we couldn't tell what kind of whale but I'm going to say it was a blue whale ok?) a ton of dolphin and a surprising amount of sea lions. It was pretty awesome.
I surprised my spouse and took her out whale watching and we had an amazing time with the Newport Whale Watching Crew. Our captain and tour guide, Dustin, and his crew were not only very accommodating, but very knowledgeable and entertaining throughout the tour. We went on the 10am tour and immediately saw a few whales at the beginning of the tour as well as dolphins and sea lions. Definitely a worthwhile excursion. We'll be back to do it again.
We boarded the "Agressor" boat, which is a no-frills cruising boat. After coasting out of the Newport/Balboa Harbor, it took a little time to see any sea life. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see any whales... bummer. But we did see a ton of common dolphins and cute, lazy sea lions. In all, it wasn't much, but hubby and I still enjoyed the cruise and beautiful sights. Since there isn't any narration on the boat, you definitely wanna keep your eyes open and/or just listen up for the "oooo's" and "ahhh's" when people see something out in the ocean.
The whales and dolphins put on quite a show for us!! Even the captain commented that he'd never seen so many whales in his 20 yrs! The dophins were jumping and we saw lots of whales of many varieties. It was AWESOME!!
The 2.5 hour whale watching trip was very comfortable. We saw a bunch of Fin whales and 50 or so dolphins. The captain spotted whales way on the horizon and went out and found them for us. The tour lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes. Food and beverages were available for purchase. Check in was easy, right next to the Ferry crossing.
The crew was awesome and looked out for our safety the entire time. They would slow down to give us enough time for pictures and videos.
It was exciting for the little kids and little kids alike to be out on the ocean and to see everything up close. Snack bar on the lower level (beer, wine, burgers, sodas, typical snack bar food). I'd definitely come back on this tour and recommend it to others.

Provided by CitysearchIt was an incredible trip. The boat was no frills, but spacious, super nice crew. They did scientific vocabulary quizzes for the kids, they were very informed about the sea life and they even ran half price drink specials for good luck : )
