For the record, we've been going to Dr. Cohen since 2006. Their complete lack of customer service has driven me to write this review...



Every time that we go there, I feel like we pay a premium to be treated like s**t. The girls that work the front desk are not only unpleasant, they are borderline rude! Do they not realize that we are paying for them? Where does Dr. Cohen find these people, and why does he allow them to continue working there?



The worst is when they call you in the afternoon to tell you that your pet will be ready for pick up by 5 pm. What that really means, is that you (along with about 7-9 other pet owners who fell for the same trick) will be waiting on your pet until 6 pm waiting on them to pull your pet up to the front and process your paperwork - and the women at the desk work with no sense of urgency. They just want to make sure that they're out of there by 6 pm so they cram us all into their lobby at 5 pm.



Did I mention that they do not have digital X-Rays? So if your pet needs to see a specialist, they have to get a courier to transfer the X-Rays (good luck with that) - because they don't want to give them to you! Really? Digital X-Rays have only been out for about 10 years now. You'd think that with all of the money that they're making they could invest a little back in to the business.



Given the fact that there are 3 of 3 perfect five star reviews on YP (as opposed to their typical 3 star average on Yelp and City Search), it is clear to me that they would rather have negative reviews deleted rather than address their glaring problems.



If it weren't for my wife, I would have fired these guys years ago, but I think that it's about time to vote with my feet.



ps. Parking on PCH is limited and borderline dangerous!

The place is a class act, like a well done physician's facility. Front desk girls pleasant and efficient. Dr. Cohen is a well regarded internist among area vets, used for consultations in diagnostic problems. He seems very dedicated to his work, sometimes a little goofy in a charming way. His thoroughness will cost you, but his fees seem same as other vets in the area. As a physician I consider him a real find for my dog after using other vets.

Where do I start? There are so many things about this vet and his hospital that are so exceptional and so different than anywhere I have been before it's hard to make a brief recommendation. I have never been any place that is so warm and lovely, so clean, and exceeds my expectations than when I took my little dog Susie to this vet in Newport Beach. I was told my dog would die by 2 other vets and now she lives a life so much better than she did the last year, it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you, Dr. Cohen. You deserve all the praise I've heard about you. I hope I can return the favor some day.

It can be difficult to get an appointment sometimes but this is THE VET for the area and I've sampled a bunch of them. Dr. Cohen is a specialist vet. Dr. Cohen is a sharp & funny guy who really knows his stuff. This veterinarian hospital is very chic, amazingly CLEAN, and his employees are very well trained. I have taken my dogs and cats to see Dr. Cohen for serious and regular checkups, and have always been pleased. All my pets are happy and healthy. They trim my dogs nails every month for free which is quite a chore. Thanks, doc!
