        Business History
        Dr. Haymond Harris, along with his father Dr. M.L. Harris, opened the original Harris Hospital in September of 1947 with 36 beds located on 3rd Street. Dr. Jabez Jackson, Sr. and Dr. John Ashley were also instrumental in providing the community with needed hospital care shortly thereafter. In November of 1965, Dr. Haymond Harris moved the hospital to the new building on McLain St. where it continues to serve patients today. In February of 2015, Harris Hospital joined White County Medical Center in the new Unity Health system, changing its name to Unity Health-Harris Medical Center.

        This is absolutely the worst hospital in Arkansas. I took my sick 1 month old baby there because I KNEW something was not right. They didn't run a single test. Simply sent us home and said everything was okay. We took him to NEA baptist the next day to find out he had a very bad case of RSV! On top of that, I was involved in a car wreck today where I rear ended a woman and was hit by three airbags. The only thing they done was xray my right foot and sent me home in agonizing pain. As of this moment, 9 hours after the wreck, every where I told them was hurting (but they ignored this) has only gotten worse. Some of it was internally. I wouldn't even give this hospital a half a star rating because they have AWFUL doctors. (Dr.Bohra was mine today). My advice to everyone, save yours or your child's life by going to NEA baptist in Jonesboro or batesville.
